I have a great seller reputation on eBay, and great customer service. I like to think of myself as what an ideal eBay seller should be. I feel like I have been mistreated, and with no good explanation.
I decided to sell off some hardware I had been using over the last 12 months, and this involved selling in bulk some equipment. I believe this activity may have set off some alarm at eBay, although it was still not a massive quantity of items, it was totaling ~16K net proceeds. I sold this hardware because I wanted the money. The day after I sold the equipment, my account was put on a temporary hold, I was informed after calling in that I would just need to ship the items, and all would be resolved. Once I shipped the items, I was told that the items needed to be delivered before the suspension would be lifted. I held up my side of the agreement. Now that everything has been delivered, I am finding out that my account has been permanently disabled, with what I am being told is irreversible. I find this to be completely unacceptable.
I now not only can no longer sell on the platform I have grown to love over the last 7+ years of use, but my funds are on hold as well. I am being told these funds will be on hold for at least 72-90 days, and possibly longer. I worked really hard for the money used to buy this equipment, now I am having to wait 3+ months to recoup the funds from the sale. I have been more than cooperative, and will continue to be.
So far I have:
- emailed the CEO (long shot, I read these emails do get responses from assistants)
- reached out to "eBay for Business" on facebook
- called in and spoken to the accounts/trust teams, this has gotten me nowhere
- replied to the message informing me of the restriction
Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

This is good information to know. I have a couple dozen GPU cards that I purchased all of them off ebay and now I'm considering selling them and upgrading to more powerful cards. If I were to sell 24 cards and ebay ask for proof of purchase I would have to point them back to ebay since all were purchased on here over the past three years.

Looking at your account I would also restrict it unless you can show where you obtained 24 used rtx 3080s. It looks suspicious to me.

@glasser wrote:@providenceaccumulators why not tell you that right away? why the secrecy? That seems nuts to me. They should have explicitly told you the problem and how to correct it.
The reason usually given is that eBay does not want it to be general knowledge what dots they see and how they connect them.
if eBay gave details of what they discerned and what they did about it from there, that would give scammers vital information as to how to avoid detection.

They asked for proof-of-purchase, and I provided the invoices directly from the distributors (with serial numbers) where the GPUs were obtained. The GPUs are 1 year old at this point.
I wish they kept the limit-5 restriction on my account if this was the case, I called and they increased it for me no questions asked.

Completely understand that, but they should go through more steps than just immediately putting me into an indefinite suspension.
I’ve used eBay as a seller over the last 7+ years, this is something I use for side stuff. I’m upset in my scenario, this doesn’t give me much confidence for those that rely heavily on eBay for their primary source of income.
It’s insane they can just take that away so easily from people.

"It’s insane they can just take that away so easily from people."
unfortunately, Ebay does just that.

Oh, I don't disagree, and it looks like you got a raw deal. It certainly happens. I was just responding to the general "why" of eBay's playing it close to the chest, but I'm not asserting that they're always right when they do.

After several days, I believe I finally have an idea of what is going on, I will continue to call eBay to inch-worm my account back to life.
An item awaiting payment should not be shipped until it is awaiting shipment.
That being said, you do not need to be "told" about order, you should be checking your seller hub summary regularly.

Glad to see they billed me for the store renewal too even though I can’t sell anything…

i dont understand what he did wrong to have his account terminated...??

I did nothing wrong and eBay doesn’t care about it’s sellers, that’s pretty much the moral of the story…

I was able to talk to a US-based supervisor, they told me nothing that can be done. I failed 3 appeals.
This entire appeal process is just poor, and eBay not being able to provide any information pertaining to those things just makes it worse. I have to guess, but I think these were my three appeals:
1. MC011 stating tracking needed to be uploaded to open orders (this happened within 24-hours of the orders being placed). I replied once tracking was provided, they stated they needed items to be delivered. This is considered failed appeal.
2. MC011 reply stating items needed to be delivered. I provided an update when most of the items were delivered, primarily to check on the status of the temporary restriction. This is considered failed appeal.
3. MC011 reply stating the need to provide copy of identification, utility bill, and proof of purchase. All three were provided promptly. This is considered failed appeal.
I guess I should have been less relaxed about the entire process, I thought this was just a normal go-around at first because I sold a high quantity of items in a short period of time. I am just super upset about this and being told there is nothing that can be done just makes it worse.

On the tracking and getting items delivered issue appeal you lost . Ebay wanted you to ship the high risk items express shipping with signature required . Had you don't that you may have one the appeal number 1. and Number 2. Which would have cut the bot's off . Far as the third appeal odd you lost ? was there more documents on the purchase's that would have helped you? Keep in mined ebay has a bot system program seller fraud warnings and key issues that set's it off . I would love to see the mod's post here to help out.

The items were listed on June 24th and sold within 24-hours (mostly on the 25th). I received the MC011 on June 25th. I shipped everything out and provided tracking Monday morning.
The only thing I can think of, for the proof-of-purchase I provided the invoices from the distributors directly, which have my companies name on there (same address) but not my name on them directly. I have invoices from my company to myself, but I did not include those. Our accounting lady scuffed up quantities so the invoices are a little wonky but the math checks out.
I had sold 35K in other equipment prior to this with no issues at all from eBay, and then this 15K is what raised the alarms it seems. It just stinks to be helpless in this situation, I wish I could just talk to someone in the "back office" team that made this decision to explain my case. I wouldn't care so much if I actually did something wrong.
