Account Burped and no one can help

Everything was humming along fine.  On Monday morning I was able to list, run sales and run promoted listings.  All of a sudden around 11AM my account popped up with account limits.  WHAT?  I have been selling since 2005 and never had account limits.

I called and spoke with Denise.  SHe said I was an old account and never had limits.  No problem as there is nothing wrong with my account so she doubled my selling limits and all is good.  Still no answer as to why all of a sudden I have limits.

Then I notice when I do bulk relists the "promote" listing tab is not available.  So on Wednesday I try to run promoted listing campaign and NOPE.  Cannot do it.  Keep getting a page "become eligible for promoted listings".....try here....  I just get caught in a loop.  Keeps going back to the try here page.

I have called three times all with a promise of a call back and nothing.  Sales are slow enough now this issue.

Any thoughts?  It seems like the system thinks I am a new account.

Wow, that's really weird.

I know at one point they were all gung ho about "everyone has limits" and were changing a lot of old accounts over to actually show the alleged "limits" but I haven't seen any reports of it posted for a long time now.

Hope they can get it fixed for you. Maybe try paging one of the blues?

Technology is really great, only when it functions correctly.

Really frustrating when you are dependent on someone else to timely attend to an issue when it does malfunction.

That's what it sounds like to me, too. I looked at your profile expecting to see a small number of listings and sales- but with your numbers this shouldn't be happening. Hopefully Brian can help since CS isn't following through.

I have been selling since 2005.  This is the first real technical issue I have run into.  Something zigged instead of zagged for sure.

Everyone that looks at the account says there is nothing wrong.  Still no reason though.

ALL sellers have limits! Sellers who opened their account prior to 2011 have "hidden" limits, meaning they are not displayed as they are with accounts opened after 2011.

If you have an old account you can call eBay and ask what your limits are and they will tell you and also flip the switch so that the limits appear as they do for newer accounts.

Most of these old accounts have very high limits, some people who called found they had limits such as 500,000 items / $2,000,000, others had lower limits but still high enough that they would rarely or ever hit them. If I recall correctly once you hit these limits they will then start to be displayed in the same way they do for accounts opened after 2011.

It is impossible to solve an issue when the CSR's at e Bay do not know the difference between running a sale and promoted listings campaigns .
