Did you mean:

Accepting & sending offers

I wish ebay would make it mandatory for buyers to have a payment method on file & have to pay immediately when accepting or making an offer. I don't like having my inventory not available because I'm waiting for payment that many times never happens!!!

Be sure you understand............Currently, this impacts only a select group of buyers.

@dhbookds

So are you saying that even though the option is there as a "seller preference" it is NOT FUNCTIONAL yet?

It's functional............but they are limiting the number of buyers who have to commit to pay immediately.......I don't know how.......which buyers/how many etc.  but it says

select group of buyers.

so that sure doesn't mean all of them..........

Re: Accepting & sending offers

I WISH they would make this "test group" a much larger swath of buyers. I have yet to get an offer from a buyer that has to pay immediately. Offers are about half of my sales, and I'm long since past being tired of waiting 1-3 days for payment. I'm also tired of those who just don't pay at all. I'm here to sell, I didn't open a lay-a-way department.

I think it's good that eBay made this an OPTION for sellers. Some sellers will not want this option, but I think most will gladly take it. It gets old when looky loo's want to play games. It's obvious eBay isn't booting them off the site, so this will be a good solution IF it ever get's made policy sitewide.

When you have a moment, could you please provide an update on the status of this new feature? Thanks!

Re: Accepting & sending offers

It would be less distasteful to buyers if SELLERS had to commit to at least same day/next day shipping (except Sunday or National holidays) in exchange for receiving the immediate payment on anything. Too many of you have set your  handling requirements beyond reasonable and many times it is several DAYS before the carrier even receives the package and then another week or more before delivery, if it gets  shipped  at all.  It is discriminatory to require timed performance from buyers when the same minimum standards are not required of sellers. Mail order catalogs often shipped faster over 70 years ago than some Ebay sellers do, example: Sears, Wards et. al. when average parcel post delivery was 2 to 3 weeks.

Re: Accepting & sending offers

Sellers should also be requiredd to give something in exchange for receiving immediate payment on anything sold . I would suggest that if immediate payment is required on any purchase, sellers should be required to provide same day/next day shipping (except Sundays and Holidays) on any sale requiring immediate payment. To make timed performance rules for buyers that do not apply to sellers is discriminatory bahavior toward buyers.

Re: Accepting & sending offers

@pburn @dhbookds The test is still targeted for selected group of buyers. We have lot of learnings from these tests, we have also received user feedback and we are actively working towards those changes.
