Looking for help with how to properly respond to an offer of a Buy It Now item. I want to accept the offer which is between my auto accept and auto decline limit. Do I have revise the listing to reflect the offer amount in order for the buyer to submit that amount and for the sale to go through or does it automatically get accepted when I reply to the buyer's eBay message?

Yes, the buyer must have used the offer button, otherwise ebay wouldn't have known that the buyer made an offer. So, there should be a button to accept the offer..

Did the buyer make an offer by using the best offer button on the listing, or did the buyer just send you a message with an offer?
If the buyer just sent a message, you would need to revise the listing and change the price to the buyers offer.

Thank you for your quick response. I'm not sure how to tell how the offer was made however the email I received in my eBay messages indicated "Good News You've Got An Offer" and states the item and offer amount. There's a button for me to "Respond Now" so I'm assuming it's from the offer button and not a private message from the potential buyer.

Whenever I have received an email from a buyer using the make an offer question, I did not have a button to accept this offer. It was merely a message asking me if I would accept $ for my item. If I was agreeable, I had the reply with offer button available to then reply to the buyer with that offer.
I'm not sure if this is the offer feature you are referring to since there are several different ways for buyers/sellers to make offers.

Why leave a gap between auto accept and auto decline ? I'm guessing the offer you received falls into the gap so neither accept or decline was activated.
Example
BIN $20 Auto accept $18 Auto decline $17.
Therefore anything falling between $17.01 - $ 17.99 will not activate either.
Solution
BIN $20 Auto Accept $18 Auto decline $17.99.

If this came from an Ebay message, you then reply with an offer. Your listing will still go on till the buyer accepts the offer. You do not need to revise. Buyer will normally have 48 hours to accept, but normally happens fairly quickly.
