I HAVE BEEN ON EBAY SINCE 2004. THIS MAY END MY SELLING. WITH THE NEW "BUY IT NOW" DURATION, I CAN NO LONGER PROVIDE ENOUGH LISTINGS FOR INVENTORY IN MY STORE, I ALSO OPENED A SECOND STORE LAST YEAR, WHICH I WILL HAVE TO CLOSE. I WILL HAVE TO REDUCE MY PREMIUM STORE TO A BASIC. I AM SURE LIKE ME , MULTIPLE SELLERS RELIST ITEMS WEEKLY TO FULFILL THERE ALLOTMENT OF BIN AND AUCTION ITEMS ALLOWED IN THERE STORE SUBSCRIPTION. THIS NEW FORMAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO RELIST ALL OF YOUR ITEMS , BUT LEAVE ON THE TABLE ALOT OF LISTINGS SUBSCRIPTIONS THAT CANNOT BE LISTED DUE TO AMOUNT OF INVENTORY NEEDED. I RELIST UNSOLD ITEMS EVERY 5 DAYS X 6 WEEKS TO USE UP MY STORE LISTINGS. THIS KEEPS ITEMS UP FRONT AND EASIER TO SELL. WITH THE GOOD TIL CANCELED DURATION , THAT IS MANDATORY FOR EVERYONE! LISTINGS WILL BE BURIED WAY BACK, OUT OF SITE. I KNOW WHEN I SHOP FOR AN ITEM, I NEVER MAKE IT PAST THE FIRST PAGE BEFORE I MAKE A PURCHASE. SO, WHAT HAPPENS TO ALL THE SELLERS THAT ARE ON PAGE 2 UP TO PAGE 50? WITH WEEKLY RELISTS YOU ITEMS WILL BE UNDER "NEWLY LISTED FOR THE FIRST COUPLE OF DAYS. AFTER A FEW DAYS, IT WILL BE UNDER " TIME ENDING SOONEST. YOU ARE ALWAYS IN THE GAME. THIS NEW FORMAT WILL PUT SELLERS WAY DEEP IN INVENTORY WAITING ON THEIR SALE, WHICH MAY NEVER HAPPEN. I FEEL THIS NEW FORMAT WILL EFFECT SELLERS THAT ARE POWER SELLERS AND TOP RATED SELLERS BECAUSE OF LACK OF EXPOSURE. EBAY NEEDS TO RETURN TO OLD SCHOOL METHODS, I HOPE OTHERS FEEL THE SAME.

Speaking of Ebay returning to old school,I just switched back over to auctions, and sold 2 items.Color me shocked because they had been up under BIN for awhile.I was a bit miffed about GTC.I don't have the amount of views I did under BIN, but I do have watchers and sold items, where as it had been dead for me.
I am a small seller, so for those with stores full of items it will be a pain.On another note, did you see the post here of stores with 1000 items will be dropping to only 500 items?

I agree 100% . If this is the route Ebay is taking I probably won't be selling on Ebay much longer either. As a seller I can't just let new listings grow out of control and keep paying the listing fees ( how is that cost effective ). I would not be able to list new listings until the old ones either sold or got canceled causing me sit on a lot of inventory (also not cost effective). As a result I will probably change my listings to auction style until I sell off my inventory and then not sell on Ebay any more.

Hate the new policy. It's just a way to boost collection of reslist fees for ebay. Many sellers don't automatically relist because they are out of or near the end of their monthly allotment of free listings. I think this is esp. true for small-medium or hobby sellers. Now, if they miss cancelling their sales, they'll get socked with relist fees.
Stupid policy. If ebay really thought it was a good thing for sellers, they could add it to the options available. Taking away options is not an improvement.

I’m closing shop as we speak. Enough of their garbage. Taking items down now. Them trying to spin this as a positive but removing options is laughable. I’m no longer willing to pay a monthly fee for awful customer service. I’m Out!!!

Not at all. In fact, I'm sick of the complaints and I'm going to lose it if one more person starts a 'let's sue ebay' board.

I still have control of my listings. I generally relist them anyway.
If I don't want it to auto-relist it is a simple process to cancel the listing. All the info is there for at least 60 days if I want to list it again later.
I will pay no additional fees for GTC
Small seller.

I use a 3rd Party lister (Seller Source Book). When I asked if they're going to come up with a 'tool' to cancel listings before they 'roll over'. They said no. So, I'm going to move all of my business over to Ink Frog where they have already have the tool in place.
