AM I READING THIS RIGHT?? increasing monthly zero insertion fee listings for MOST sellers starting

SERIOUSLY!!  I just looked at the SO-CALLED increases for MOST sellers.  As with everything eBay management does, you have to read the fine print, or in this case asterisk.  So it looks like to me, a Premium Store owner who sells in the Toys & Hobbies section, I will be taking the eBay shaft.  Your (selected category) collectible card games encompasses MOST of the sellers in the Toys & Hobbies??  I imagine the sellers are having a bonanza in that category.  How does that one obscure category comprise MOST of the sellers??

So now I have to end the extra listings that go beyond my store allotment or be charged triple the store rate to LET them relist, not end as it used to (a whole other issue).  To me it is no better than a drug dealer that gets you hooked and then jacks up the price.

Just when I thought you people were starting to get it you show me who you really are!!

Time to start shopping this store around

I get your points, and yes the changes only benefit certain sellers and not others. If you don't list in one of the select categories, then you're stuck paying insertion fees while others aren't. Not sure how anyone can say that's fair, it clearly is not.

As an example, I list in most of the categories they mentioned; books, music, movies, and video games. I can make 50,000 fixed price listings and pay nothing, while someone else makes a few hundred listings and gets charged listing fees for all of them.

So I can save tens of thousands of dollars a year in listing fees and have a freaking toys r us of media on ebay practically for free, while others get shorted and forced to pay up for every last listing.

Confirmed All Toys & Hobbies Sellers are left out completely except that huge category of collectible card games

Unfortunately, big business gets and stays that way by someone else paying the bills and shareholders.

No, it does not encompass most sellers in Toys & Hobbies.

It encompasses most sellers on eBay

Because most sellers on eBay do not only sell in "Toys & Hobbies".

zero insertion listing fee listing = free listing = More money for eBay

increasing zero insertion listing fee listings = more free listings = EVEN MORE Money for eBay

Only if those items actually SELL.  That's why eBay is giving more free listings in categories that have been selling very well lately and not in others.

The sellers who only list items in Toys & Hobbies are a minority of eBay sellers.

People post here with posting ids. you have no idea what they buy or sell on other ids. If people sound like they know what they’re talking about they probably do.

***********General post*******************

This is a fabulous change that Ebay is making.  While certainly it isn't going to help all sellers, I really don't think it was designed to do that in the first place.  But it will help a whole lot of sellers.

I think Ebay likely review sales in 2020 and is targeting categories that are very active right now.  It has to do a lot with the Pandemic and people looking for things to do while at home for them and their families.   Certainly other things probably played into the decision as well.

For me, I just feel refreshed that it wasn't all about Fashions and Collectibles.  That is what it usually is, so I am over the moon that the categories I sell in were actually on the list.  That is a first time ever and I've been here a long time.

An enticement to keep the worker bees going. Just like back in the old days Say,  back in the early 17-1800s they drank more milk than you did. Throw me a bone I'll be just fine.
