AI-Generated descriptions

I won't know right away because I list using a desktop PC. Maybe people using the app can report what it's like.

From reading descriptions, can say that with those I can tell are AI, isn't working well........about 1/2 have incorrect info.....sometimes traceable to incorrect IS.....so not AI fault........but some sellers certainly are not checking.  I've seen a couple bowls, called plates or the equivalent.

Given the discussion, and the naming-and-shaming rules around here, we cannot point to a third-party listing using an AI description (and I wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole), so someone actually using AI for their description(s) will need to volunteer their own listing(s) as examples.

This is very easy to experiment with - it doesn't take hunting down listings to look at AI descriptions.

Listing for an exclusive creator upcycled sweater.

My rubbish:

Wonderful creation from fiber artist Lynn DiNino in this upcycled cardigan coat. Mixed pattern and textile as well as types of knit. Hi. I had new listings at the time that I answered your post. Shortly after I listed them with the Al generated description , I had removed them before any sales. I gave those items to people in need. I will however be listing some more. I will let you know when the Al generated description listings sell. Have a wonderful holiday season.

I HATE the phony AI descriptions ... they say "lazy" and "dumb" (as in, too dumb to realize that buyers want a  DESCRIPTION, not a bunch of fluff words like "this will enhance any room in your home with style" )  UGH UGH UGH !!!!!!!!!

they (AI descriptions) will NOT give you an "edge" ... I've been buying and selling on eBay for over 20 years and I actually won't buy an item if the description is AI.  Tells me NOTHING about the actual item ....
