AD PERCENTAGE

 Yesterday spent a hour on computer reviewing and changing all my 82 items to suggested ad rate percentage which is 9%, 10%, or 11% per item.

"Now today they are all different, back to my original suggested ad rate percentage of 5%, 6%, or 7% !!!!"

What's going on?? This is wasting and very time consuming !!

@sincerelycynda

Suggested ad rates are variable, rates changing every day for several factors.

Re: AD PERCENTAGE

the suggested rates change all the time, daily will be different, especially since ebay has crewed up the site so bad no sales for many many many sellers past entire week, so those percentages will fall, and should continue to fall since no sales are really happening.

Re: AD PERCENTAGE

Coming Soon. Actually we're already there. Paying at least 30%. It's eBay's stew, so they can throw whatever they want in it.

Re: AD PERCENTAGE

Yep, the sky is the limit. But we can take comfort because they're not called Final Value Fees. You can pay 50% after all the smoke clears, but hey, FVF's are still at 12.9%. Hooray!! Thanks eBay! One of the biggest money grabs in e-commerce history.

@wrong66 12.9% is more like 20% + with the PL rates having to elect happening lately - that is the Crime, 20% 30% 40% or more to sell on a platform?? Most people don't have profit margins that high.

Re: AD PERCENTAGE

There you have it. It's actually pure genius that they got people to fall for it. I'm truly amazed.

believe me, I tried to tell people not to do it, for longtime now, long before they increased the minimal rate to 2% - said this was going happen but no wanted to listen or care and that is exactly what has happened, ebay found people electing higher and higher rates and with that inflated their suggestion rates to keep it going...now 2 years later we see people electing 10-15% average with some even higher then that and whats the result? play to play in full effect and to top with a cherry - No Sales - but even more lets get some hot fudge over that and look what it has done to your PLs - those higher rates? well, they are now locked in to anyone who clicked on the PL to view it and when people say "enough" and decrease those rates, the only to wipe out that locked higher PL rate is to end the listing and create a new. So - there you go, complete desert - bitter sweet.

Re: AD PERCENTAGE

They can suggest all they like , but we are not required to accept the suggestion.

Which is better; to make 80% of one gross sale or to make 40% of five gross sales?

Some sales are not worth having.
