Please cancel this order. Clicked by mistake.
Really?
oh, I understand that you clicked by mistake and you confirmed at checkout by mistake, I also understand that you received 3 confirmation emails from me, paypal, and ebay but didn't realize you made a mistake at the time, then 2 hours later you remembered that you may have ordered something online by mistake, and when you went to check, there it was...A BIG mistake.
Actually, this is called Natural stupidity but at sellers' cost.

Yeah. I wish I could say I've never done it. But I have. So I don't worry when others do it. No big deal. As with many people, I did it late at night when I was tired. I didn't notice a detail until after the purchase. The condition description said "excellent" but the pictures were most definitely NOT excellent. I realized it 5 minutes after the fact. Still....
It all worked out.

And starting on May 7, 2019 that "mistake" is going to start costing you the Seller 2.96% Discount rate plus the $.30 Transaction rate that Paypal will no longer be refunding. So now Ebays policy of encouraging the buyers to feel free to change their minds after payment has been made and of course Ebay has sent them numerous links to other listings that are cheaper than yours (funny how those were not available to be seen before they made the purchase) is going to add another "Cost of Doing Business on Ebay" that they will expect Sellers to absorb all while pushing Sellers to lower their prices.
As a buyer I have seen this happen numerous times in the past where i suddenly am shown more available items than were originally shown with even lower prices. When Ebay was asked about this their answer was they were just trying to do all they could to make the buyers experience a great one so they would come back again. So rather than show them all the items originally and allowing the buyer to choose, they wait and then send them an email informing them that Ebay has just located the same item for a lower price and wanted to make sure you were aware of it, thereby ingratiating themselves in the buyers mind as always looking out for their best interest.
Of course if they had just originally shown them everything that would also have been looking out for the Buyers Best Interest, but would not have additionally caused grief for the Seller, which seems to also be one of their goals. Then Ebay wonders why the continue to grow less and less each quarter, in fact actually showing negative growth year over year in the first quarter of 2019. Way to go Ebay !!!

It's frustrating to get a bogus excuse for wanting to cancel, but at least they canceled before you printed the shipping label or brought it to the post office so you didn't have to lose money over it (I'm assuming the "at the seller's cost" was referring to time and effort since you didn't mention shipping).
I've had people tell me to cancel after the shipping label was printed (and they got the shipping notification), but luckily before I got to the post office. Those made me wonder if they were trying to get a free item.

In my opinion since the seller did misrepresent item condition, evidenced by latter review of the photos, but your decision to purchase having been based upon trust in the description (item in excellent condition.)
It did make sense to request a cancellation, rather than do a SNAD return.
Perhaps your seller when working on this listing was also very tired.

I had this happen twice, by the same buyer on the same item! He sent me an offer, which I accepted, and he paid. Then asked to cancel as it was the wrong item. Before I refunded, he decided he wanted the item and told me to ship it. I printed a label, and he asked again to cancel. I was frustrated, and told him so(don't do it, its not worth it), I refunded him, but he left me negative feedback. Then, three weeks later, he accidentally paid for the item again, because it was on his purchase page as unpaid, I had to refund him again! He is now blocked, but I was stuck with a very nasty taste in my mouth, and a strong and unpacified desire to punch him in the nose, a loss on the item, neg feedback, all for a $4 book. AAArrrrggggg!

And I guess bank robbers rob banks by mistake too. These buyers...

Read a similar thread to your post. Requested cancellation because of a mistake made buying late at night~realized the error five minutes later.
Just check thoroughly before and not after buying and you will avoid this.
It may be no big deal to you and it may work out, but the seller can lose money when this happens.

That's horrible! And to think you got a negative out of it as well. A very worthy block, IMO.

They happen from time to time, and I usually don't mind doing it, but it can be annoying. The worst part is what you included in the title though "Don't keep the buyer waiting". Ebay makes it sound like you are inconveniencing the buyer rather than doing them a favor.
That message does sound like you are being chastised.

Actually, in ebay's opinion (market strategy), I believe they feel that you ARE inconveniencing the buyer and, to ebay, the buyer is all that counts - well, beside their bottom line. Anything keeping the buyer from what they want, instantly, and it will be a bad buyer experience - and the seller's fault, and it will just make ebay look bad.

Yep. It's like "why not? They didn't care they've caused me time and effort (and money once the PP thing kicks in).
Unfortunately, many do have a cavalier attitude about the whole thing, when they have inconvenienced the seller.
