A Thank You To The EBAY IT Programmers

I just want to thank the IT Programmer / programmers who served me up a new EBAY SELLER PROTECTION REFUND PAGE. I unknowingly used your new page (the only one offered) when refunding a buyer who opened a claim against me for shipping damage. this buyer damaged my item so I reported him as I was instructed then I was OFFERED TO WITH HOLD up to 20% for the damage. I checked the box YOU EBAY supplied on the form. refund sent case closed. 16 DAYS LATER the same buyer opened another case and was looking for the other 20% which you gave him with no questions asked. case closed before I could even understand what was going on.

  Now for the 1st time in 6 years of selling here with a 100% positive feed back rating, over $90,000 in sales and over 37500 positive transactions I HAVE MY FIRST CASE CLOSED WITHOUT SELLER RESOLUTION and my FIRST TRANSACTION DEFECT! I am now a tenth of a percentage point of losing my top rated seller status and falling below standard. I honest mistake from being kicked off ebay for life. Thank you for sending me the NEW SELLER PROTECTION REFUND PAGE without the warning that because I do not offer 30 day free returns if I checked that DEADLY 20% deduction button for buyer damaged item even by mistake I would put my family and business in jeopardy.

  So, thank you IT / PROGRAMMERS for that nice surprise. I fear you all more than I fear COVID-19 and that's the truth!

I fully empathize with you - but please remember, the programmers are only executing the orders from "above". You need to contact those who are in charge of coming up with these "traps," not those who are just doing the job they are asked to do. That said, I am hurting just by having read of what happened. A truly devilish idea. I hope you can get the DEFECT removed!

Thank You so much. I have been shooting messages back and forth with CS and I just received one that said they would remove the defect within 24hrs. I am praying this is true. I have 2 defects because of this which neither were my fault, I hope they both disappear and everything goes back to normal. It is hard enough swallowing what this buyer did to me and the loss of $400 and my merchandise. The defects I received through a faulty refund form process is just insult to injury. Thank You for the kind words.

Did the buyer damage it or was it damaged during shipping.

If it was damaged during shipping, buyer should get a full refund.

The buyer said it was damaged during shipping but in his return case stated "will not support postal service claim due to box to small and little packing". I asked him to please send photos of damage to my shipping box and damage to the steel counter display box to which he refused and became belligerent saying he will report me to the post office if i try and file a claim.

 I accepted the return because I had no choice. He shipped my $300 steel display box back to me in my original shipping box and there was absolutely no damage anywhere on the outer box. I have supplied photos of what I found when I opened the box. The box was destroyed and looked like someone took a sharp hoe like object to it and tried splitting it in half. The outer box would have been sliced through to penetrate the steel the way that it did. my packaging was more than safe, I ship lamps, large pottery, glass mirrors and glass paintings. I know how to pack. HE DAMAGED THIS ITEM NOT THE USPS period.

Those in charge are simply earning the big bucks & bonus that they are being paid, those who are doing their jobs, compliant & following orders from their superiors
