That's very noble of you.  If by high strung, you mean I understand the concept then sure, I'm high strung.

The last vestige of a defeated person minus facts: gaslight and ad hominem attack the opposition.  Go back and read your posts and your a((h)hole) photo.  The pot calling the kettle black certainly applies to you.  @tarotfindsandmore has presented facts, and extremely sound and logical arguments.

camp quote: “When the people shall have nothing more to eat, they will eat the rich.” - Jean-Jacques Rousseau

The quote you post originates from the French Revolution, which was due to an extreme disparity in wealth and the so called enlightment (SJW, Woke, etc).  It was said Queen Antoinette and royals were galavanting around committing all types of debauchery,  while the common folk couldn't even find maggots to eat.

It's obvious from your statements that you're a free market, open borders believer (minus facts).  Do you realize the conditions Jean-Jacques wrote of are created by your world view?

Who even says "liberals" anymore?    I'm a tree-hugging, trans-embracing PROGRESSIVE and I can't stand liberals; they're just Republican greed-mongers in donkey suits.

At the risk (minimal, to be sure) of bringing this thread around to ebay and selling. For those who might not have seen this:

When I was little I LOVED that stuff -not the cherry flavored but the unflavored one, LOL.
It's made from kaolin -clay basically, one of the oldest digestive remedies, in fact so ancient that in it's in the DNA of many animals to crave it when they have an upset tummy!  Tapirs for example will make a daily journey to the pits to eat the clay before bedding down to sleep, after eating semi-toxic plants all day.

I wouldn't be all that shocked if some opportunistic businesses start raising prices anyway (in anticipation cough cough). Look what happened during Covid even after the supply chains weren't being hammered.

Let's look at the cash flow and financing for a business that is overwhelmingly an importer. They have working capital of $1,000,000 dollars and let's assume an average or median tariff of 25% percent.

Now they need $1,250,000 in working capital.
Multiply the $250,000 by 7% financing interest = $17,500
Add the $250,000 and $17,500 = $267,500

This business will probably increase their price by 26.75% rather than the 25%.

What is the action plan to accumulate a $250,000 pot of cash so they don't have to pay the 7% forever?
Pay less dividends to investors and give less raises to employees for 26.75 months?

A price increase of 26.75% on some expenses will prevent me from buying the collectables you are selling on eBay. I will be paying 25% more, now, that will benefit workers in an iPhone factory who will start their new jobs 2.5+ years in the future.

These tariffs are communism because they are redistributing income.

Consider the commercial aircraft manufacturing industry dominated by Boeing and Airbus.

Every customer outside of the USA will stop buying Boeing because of tariffs or boycotts. Boeing will downsize or go out of business. Also figure in 25 years of lost replacement part business for the useful lifespans of the planes.

It will be the Golden Age of Prosperity for Airbus as they will secure all aircraft business outside of the USA.

2. Nvidia: $200-$300 billion usd, with $500 billion over the next 4 years with 20,000-25,000 new jobs.
3. Apple: $500 billion, 20,000 new jobs

When you divide the $500B investment by 25K jobs, you get $20M per job created.
When you divide the other $500B investment by 20K jobs, you get $25M per job created.

Foxconn, a global electronics maker and Apple's largest manufacturer, announced in 2017 a $10 billion investment and 13,000 jobs in Wisconsin to manufacture large LCD screens. That got delayed, downsized and cancelled overall. It is partially built with 1,000 workers.

On September 9, 2022, Intel held the official groundbreaking ceremony for its $28 billion investment in a new semiconductor manufacturing site to produce leading-edge chips in New Albany (Columbus), OH. It was supposed to open in 2025 with 3,000 workers. It has been delayed until 2030 or 2031.
