I just sold an Ohio State Jersey for $26.99 and $7.00 shipping and ebay got $4.86 not counting the shipping cost which brings it to $10.84 I get $23.15 I am not a store or big company I am a hard working man and sell things here to help my income why do all us little guys have to pay fees and taxes for these sales? Ebay is getting more money hungry every day. If the raising fees continues who will sell on ebay? Certainly not the little people as Ebay keeps pushing to get rid of normal sellers they only want big companies so they can get bigger payouts for themselves and don't care about all us little sellers that made Ebay what it is today. GREED is the root of all evil and Ebay big wigs is showing their true colors. I for one will not be selling much if anything else on ebay. Looking into other venues to list and sell my collectibles.

You are posting to a zombie thread dated 07/1521.
However, I have to ask what tax do you figure you pay when you SELL something?
The buyer pays the state sales tax (presuming that's what you are referring to), not the seller.
Furthermore, in regard to that state sales tax, that state sales tax is on the TRANSACTION, not the item.
Could not figure out ". . . and for them to get paid for shipping is wrong", so cannot comment on that one.

Now that you are aware of the fees involved in selling, it’s time to decide if you can make the changes within your own business model to accommodate this reality or if it’s too much and you have to move on.

Don't forget to add your income tax to that 30% it will approach 50% as time goes on (selling costs.)
Up to you to decide if it is worth it to continue.

Well, yes, although it's his thread; he's the OP.

Granted, he's another who's confused about the difference between sales tax and income tax, but I assume the comment on shipping refers to eBay essentially taking a percentage of the buyer's postage expense by not deducting it before applying Final Value Fees, but now we're just beating the greasy spot in the road where the dead horse used to be, so let's not go through all that again...
@pizimp1987 : last July you were "[l]ooking into other venues to list and sell my collectibles." I'm guessing that you have decided to remain here after all...?

I never look at the dates of these things. lol. Basically you sell here you get more eyes on it. You might pay less in fees somewhere else whoopdie do but your buyer base is less. You're paying for exposure.
There's zero fee websites out there to sell. Have at it. You won't sell anything but go for it.
