Re: 3,000 views a day, need explanation ???

ebay uses fluff bots to fluff up the views numbers so sellers think their is some real interest and probably should relist the item. They go haywire sometimes and just keep viewing a item which raises the view count...

Re: 3,000 views a day, need explanation ???

The "fluff" bots are actually Google, Bing, GoDuckGo and other search engines.

When you see a massive number like that them it's an eBay glitch, I see it frequently like a newly listed item with 20 views in the first 10 seconds.

Just ignore the view counts, consider them "mostly accurate" when the numbers make sense and useless when they don't.

Watch counts on the other hand are usually spot on.

Its been going on for years. If it bugs you real bad you can end the listing and write a new listing from scratch and it will go away...

Re: 3,000 views a day, need explanation ???

There's something wonky going on with the Views lately... someone was complaining elsewhere recently that they've got dozens of views on listings that are scheduled and aren't even live on the site yet.

Other oddities occur all the time... I get high views on low desireability listings from time to time, and the bids / selling price rarely reflect the traffic that's being logged on the Views.   eBay may well be pinging their own listings / pages to drive up page views on the site for the third party site traffic rankings.

Nothing would surprise me. Ethics isn't their strong suit at the best of times.

eBay replied to my comment on my facebook post.
It could be any number of reasons, Ihab. Buyers are always looking for rare and interesting items like this, though they might not be ready to purchase right away.

Now that's funny...but not surprising.

Ebay never admits to glitches of any kind!
