25th eBay Sellerbration starts in 3 hours

Everyone else getting excited about the upcoming Sellerbration in 3 hours? I can't imagine how this is going to work with so many people joining. Kind of exciting.

An event that is technologically broken is so eBay!

This is making me so nostalgic for the early days of eBay! We can have our own "what the past 25 years have been" event right here.

Way back in the Twentieth Century, there were no free insertions.   In September 1999, there was an outage that lasted a long time, maybe 24 hours, and in compensation eBay announced their very first Free Listing Day.  Naturally, the whole system crashed again shortly after that FLD began.  

And so began a tradition of eBay crashes.  For a few years, there was a FLD on the first business day after Christmas.  Here on the east coast, we'd get up early and get a bunch of stuff listed before the anticipated crash. And then there would be no more free insertions for twelve months.  How we take them for granted, now.

Yep, long timers remember a lot of outages and refunds for fees.  And sending in a check to billing and hope that it would clear so we could keep listing and selling.

It's just so ironic that the 25th anniversary is a glitchfest.

It brings back so many memories of ebay.

For pete's sake, they should enable YoutTube CHAT so we can at least talk to others and have some sort of group event feel!!

they apparently completely took down the server or something like that because mine started jumping directly to the 502 error without even trying to communicate.  they may also have changed the server backbones if some people are now getting standby music.  here, i still cannot even get that far.
