100% Authentic Listings - Your account has been restricted: Counterfeit item policy ?? Please Help

Good morning,

I just received an email from eBay stating they are restricting my account and listings for three days due to the Counterfeit Item Policy. I've never sold anything that wasn't 100% authentic, real, and purchased by me. I have 470+ positive reviews, 0 negative feedback, and have never posted anything fake. My photos are clear, show all sides of the card (I primarily list baseball, football and basketball trading cards), the items are listed accurately, and almost all auctions are started at $0.99. The three listings they referenced were the same as all my other listings. I have no idea how to correct this. I've reached out to eBay to resolve but haven't received a response. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated from other sellers, and if someone from eBay sees this and can look at my account to fix this issue it would help so much!

Thank you!

The two statements below are carte blanche for doing what they want. Nothing says warning first.

Prohibited items:

Make sure your listings and products follow these guidelines. If they don't, they may be removed, and you may be subject to a range of other actions, including restrictions of your buying and selling privileges and suspension of your account.

Counterfeit items:

Activity that doesn't follow eBay policy could result in a range of actions including for example: administratively ending or canceling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, loss of buyer or seller protections, and account suspension. All fees paid or payable in relation to listings or accounts on which we take any action will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account.

Here is what eBay states on Counterfeit items.

From my viewpoint, if a seller  is flagged for selling counterfeit anything, including sports cards, the seller needs to  have hard  documentation to prove authenticity,  a sellers words don't count.    Sports cards have been counterfeited especially those of  high value.

There is a very short list of cards that cannot be listed without authentication / grading!

If the seller needs to prove authenticity, then the accuser needs to have the same proof of counterfeit IMHO

@flip_it_llc

False information. You do NOT have to have  card graded. What you most likely did was to say in your listing description or title that a card may grade at a specific number. That is not only misleading to buyers, but it is also keyword spamming.

@sextons-sweet-deals

It's actually very easy and quite common to have a card graded. They use microscopes and specific measuring equipment to determine a cards grade. It is the most accurate and reliable way to insure the actual quality and authenticity of a card.

Looking through the OP's completed listings, I see many that are listed with a title that says "PSA Ready" or "PSA 10 ?" or similar.

It is against policy to suggest a card will grade at a certain level, or to manipulate search by including "PSA" in the title of a card that is not actually PSA graded.

Based on a completed item search, IMHO the OP is a serial policy violator and the suspenson was completely justified despite the fact that the CSA may have given him gave bad information.

It is not easy when some companies are not even accepting cards for grading.

Also the lowest price to grade a card now in any company is $12.00 & that is a new not established company. Lowest Price for established companies is $20.00.

------

Aside from the reply

You do not have to have cards graded to list them! That is false info. 95% of cards are not worth grading. Yet are wanted & needed by collectors for sets, collections, etc.

Grading is for the more expensive cards or Lower priced cards that become expensive if you get the right grade.

The only thing to never do is use the name of a grading company in a Non Graded Card auction

IE  2001 Babe Ruth Card MINT CONDITION PSA10 ????

Then the card is ungraded. Do not put PSA Anything ???? if it is not PSA Graded.

That is keyword spamming / trademark violation.

Still does not make it counterfeit.
