$10,000 and a lot of hard work wasted

eBay is a joke.  New seller here, well, was a seller rather.  I’ve acquired many items and decided it was time to sell some of my possessions off.  Everything going good. Then restricted, they want bank statements and original purchase receipts.  I comply except for purchase receipts as most my goods have been traded or bartered for and have been collecting dust many years.  I write them explaining that, they lift the restriction and allow me to continue to sell with all sells resulting in payouts on hold.  I sell another few thousand and restricted.  Now indefinitely.  With a grand total of $10,000 waiting to be payed out.  I have lost quite a few valuable items and I get no compensation?  If you are thinking about selling on eBay.  Don’t.  I’m devastated.  Probably going to loose my house now as one payout was scheduled for tomorrow and I was banking on it for the payment.  Thanks eBay!  I’m so thankful your platform exists.

Re: $10,000 and a lot of hard work wasted

Hello jgshaw626,
We wanted to let you know that your account has been permanently restricted from selling because of activity we believe was putting the eBay community at risk. We understand this must be frustrating, and please know that our decision was not made lightly. Measures like this help keep our marketplace safe for everyone. For more information, see our article on how and why accounts can be restricted or review our User Agreement.

Here’s what you should know
  • You will no longer be able to use your account to sell on eBay and any new accounts you set up may also be restricted.
  • If you have any listings, they’ve been removed and can be viewed below. - Any fees paid or payable for listings that are ended and/or hidden from search will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account.
  • Any store subscriptions have been canceled.
  • You can still bid on and buy items from other sellers.
If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch. We’re here to help.

Thanks,
eBay

What are you even talking about?  It’s a freaking online marketplace.  You upload what you have and how much you want for it.  The other end decides if they want to purchase it or not.  There’s no diving in here.  There is seller and buyer.  If seller isn’t selling children’s organs and the buyer isn’t leaving negative feedback.  What’s the big freaking deal?  Act all high and mighty because you didn’t get banned, like eBay is some art form we need to practice.  **bleep** off.  It’s e-commerce, they get a massive cut of everything to boot!

Very aware of the hold for $1,000.  Wasn’t a big deal.

I like your style.  May have exaggerated the house thing, more like arranged my finances based on the $2500 that was going to be released today after a 30-day hold.  However it’s not now because I’m suspended so my money is not available.  Sorry to confuse you sir

Yup.  I actually chuckled at how much I was making eBay.  Thought it was kinda cool because I used to buy nintendo power magazines off a dial-up modem on eBay back in the late 90’s.

Then you will likely get your held funds when the MBG runs out for buyers which is 30 days from the receipt of the item.  Ebay will want to make sure all is good with all your transactions before releasing the money.   Even when Ebay does this, they are at risk for a Chargeback on something you sold for up to 6 months from the sale.
