Auction-style listings If you select the auto-relist option (if available) when you create your listing: Auctions with a duration of 5 days or more will be automatically relisted up to 8 times Auctions with a duration of 1 or 3 days will be automatically relisted up to 8 times as a 7-day listing Auto-relists are free, except for listings in vehicles categories

JUST COPIED AND PASTED THE ABOVE FROM EBAY uk SITE. (which never gets a reply and the ebay reps/staff just ignore numerous emails) WHY HAVE I BEEN CHARGED 18p FOR ALL MY RELSIST UNTIL ITEM SOLD WHEN IT CLEARLY STATES THESE ARE NOW FREE!!!?

Hi @binnes2! I replied to your other post regarding this a few weeks ago. I'll include a link to that post here. Unfortunately, it looks like you no longer qualify for the free auto-relist feature. You can continue to list auctions knowing this going forward, or you can look into switching listings to the Good 'Til Canceled/Fixed price format.

Re: auto relist until item sells

velvet@ebay Thanks for reply never got any notification of your previous reply (maybe I didnt tick the email reply box) I haven't opened the link but I don't see how I need to "qualify" for what I copied from the site? It seems though, some are saying that the  FREE auto relists are only for "private" sellers ie those who dont pay taxes on their sales. Which seems **bleep** unfair punishing those who do declare their earnings. Seems I for one would be cheaper selling as a private seller as well as business seller ONLY for good until cancelled items.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't see my previous reply on the other post @binnes2. Even private sellers can hit that threshold though, so it's not a guaranteed promotion indefinitely.

As for paying taxes, we have no control over who declares what. What I can tell you though, is no matter what a seller is on eBay (private or business), if they meet the $600 threshold this year then they will receive a 1099-K form from eBay and you can go here to learn more.

Re: auto relist until item sells

velvet@ebay-- The OP is in the UK, so the information about 1099-K forms doesn't apply to him.

@binnes2FYI -- the 1099-K form that Velvet mentioned is an IRS form that only applies in the USA, for sellers who live in the USA and have tax liability to the USA. Here, people are required to report all income to the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) whether they have private or business accounts. Whether the income is taxable depends on their circumstances, not on anything to do with their eBay account.

From what Velvet reported, this has more to do with how much selling experience your account has, not with the tax status of your account.

Re: auto relist until item sells

@lacemaker3 velvet@ebay  Yeah thanks for that both. Yeah I'm in "UK" (actually VERY far from "united" but not the place for Scottish independence promo here I guess!) We seem to have declare as a business if you are honest and want to pay your taxes or pretend your not a business and don't pay taxes ! Well thats the way it seems to most . They say if you buy to sell then you are a business but if you sell stuff you have anyway then you are not!! ??Strange but true and the former is a better guide line for sure!

Seems as I said yesterday, I am better off getting 8x FREE relisting (in auctions) than PAYING for a shop that only gives 200 auction listing included in the £87 a month for the "shop" especially when I have (well had until ebay decided NOT to auto relist last month) 700 plus auction items! My maths are not brilliant and my speeeling quite grum too but seems pretty obvious that ebay are only catering for new sellers and not those that have fooolisly used this platform for 20 years! Ie I would be better off financially closing shop and sell as a private trader ! Seems a bit of a kick in the teeth to me! and Im sure hundreds if not thousands of others.
