I do not see the shipping calculator anywhere on the new listing tool. I can not set flat rate fees without it. Am I missing something?

No you are not missing it. they did not include it in this terrible scaled back phone version of a listing tool. Please continue to send feedback saying how bad it is so we can get access to the classic listing tool again

I just tried to make another listing but could not get through it- beyond frustrating. Now the shipping section does not include regular priority mail calculated option- only flat rate and regional boxes.... come on guys- this is an epic fail....again....just give us back the working classic so we can provide for our families.

Hi @plethoraofjunk and @siamjane8! When I go to create a shipping policy in the new listing flow, I see the shipping calculator and several shipping options, including USPS Priority. How are you listing? What do you see?

I may be wrong velvet@ebay but I think the question may have been about flat rate as in I charge $5 flat rate not a USPS Flat rate product. I sell mostly by using a flat rate $ amount myself and work out best option based on where the buyer lives and the size and weight of the item.

Thanks for chiming in @glasser! I would just pick a general service that you find you most often use, but still ship with whatever is best financially for you. In the classic flow you're asked to enter at least one domestic shipping service similar to the new listing flow. Does it look different for you?

I have been building a set of screen-captures to use on the forums. On my account without shipping policies, I was unable to find any way to add a shipping service. I could only access the options shown in the screen below.
In this instance, I chose a similar item from eBay's suggestions when starting the listing.
After I clicked the "more settings" icon at the top left, and selected the option to use "Shipping prefill" the fields became available — and they were prefilled with bogus data from the similar listing that I chose from eBay's recommendations. After the fields appeared, I was able to edit them (screenshot below). I turned off Prefill and nothing changed.
So, I started a new listing and did not pick from the similar listings. Shipping services were not displayed. When I turned on "Shipping prefill", nothing changed, and there were still no shipping service options.
I started another new listing from the same category (apparently "Shipping Prefill" remains set as a global preference), and the same bogus shipping info was available on the form.
I switched off the "Shipping Prefill", closed the listing page, and started another blank listing. The shipping services were missing. When I turned on Prefill, the shipping services were still missing.
It looks like the shipping service module is linked to sell-similar of some sort and won't display when an item is not linked to any listing. Is there some other hidden setting that would turn on that module, or is this a hole in the programming?

If you are not using shipping policies, the shipping calculation is built into the service selector as a retail price spread from near to far locations.
I was alarmed to see the huge spread in the FedEx and UPS ground services. Both services differ by only a few dollars between near and far on eBay's standard calculator. Can the programmers provide some idea what is going on with spreads like $10 - $73 and $11 - $91 on the Unified lister?

You are breaking my heart by showing the comparison of the two shipping calculators- The classic design is so perfect and informative and accurate and easy to see all the info and make a quick decision and the unified tool is a complete discombobulated flop of a worthless tool that takes 30 mouse clicks to even get a listing done wrongly. Please ebay we need the proven classic tool back right now- Im not saying it has to stay forever (although why wouldn't it if that s what we want?), but we need it back till this mess is fixed- I am not a giunni pig for you cat and mouse game- I am a real person with a family that your adding unnecessary hardship to.

Interesting @shipscript! I didn't think about there being a difference based on business policy use, or lack there of. I obviously have them on my own account, so I appreciate this info and screen shots. I'll send them on and see what I can find out for our non-business policy using sellers. Thanks!

I'm also trying to see what I can find out about the large spread in the calculator @shipscript. Thanks again!

Good news @shipscript! The shipping team thinks they may know what is going on and it could be affecting a few different things. They said they would update me when they know for certain and have news to share out. Thank you again for your detailed posts!

Thanks for all your efforts in helping us with the new tool. I am curious how our feedback from the community board is funneled up. Do you guys make up a report to send to appropriate teams or do they monitor these discussions as well?
There has been a huge out outpouring over the new listing tool when trying to use on a computer and not a phone. We truly need help and want to know that our concerns are being heard and considered seriously. we also need a timeline projection from ebay as to when these issues will be addressed if they are not willing to give us access to the classic tool back. This new tool is crippling small businesses' ability to list on ebay. please help us see the light at the end of the tunnel if there is one velvet

Hi @siamjane8! It's a little bit of both. I know the listing team pops into the Community but we also have ways to funnel things up since they can't spend all day here.

One of todays major glitches with the new listing tool is that it is now showing my buyer the retail store shipping prices instead of the ebay reduced rates that we always offer. I had several buyer questions about how high my shipping was! turns out for fedex and ups, ebay was quoting 38 dollars over the true price!! shipping was $78 to go 25 miles away from me..... I salvaged the sale with a work-a-round and the actual cost of the shipping through the ebay shipping page was $39 UPS. The new listing tool does not even ask what the seller wants to show so who is deciding? or is just another oversight?
