UPC Scanner

I already downloaded the Ebay app i use an iPhone 6 the UPC scanner does not work when i click on the scanner icon it takes me to the scanner page i see the barcode activated but when i place my phone over an item code to star the scanning process it doesn't seem to be working even wheni tab on barcode to focus please advice.
