As of 2 days ago I suddenly began getting an error message when trying to upload my listings - “Return Policy Attribute returnDescription Not Valid On This Site”. I have 30 day returns, Buyer pays, No restocking fee. Nothing different to what I have always had. I tried changing to 60 days but made no difference, still unable to upload. Some of my older items do seem to upload though. Any ideas?
I did sent an email to the advanced apps teams Friday midnight but rec’d no acknowledgement. Maybe they are closed on weekends now.

Many sellers have a link in their description to "See my other items". This is a link to the sellers store. You can look at any of my items to see this link.
The old store url format was - https://stores.ebay.com/(storename)
eBay has changed this to - https://www.ebay.com/str/(storename)
The old link redirects to the new one. I just wished to avoid the redirect. eBay will eventually quit doing the redirect.

I’m getting the error on both of my IDs tonight. I don’t show any error code though, only the message. It doesn’t happen until after I try to upload and it seems to be sporadic, one time I can upload an item, next time I get the error message. Seems to be getting worse unfortunately.

Thanks berserkerplanet, yes, I agree it may have to do with the returns policy changes but can’t understand why more people haven’t been affected.
I have tried workarounds as you have described without much luck. Sometimes they work, sometimes not. Strange because all my returns read the same, 30 day returns, buyer pays, no restocking fee. I managed to list a few items during the day yesterday but unable to list any last night. Will try some more today.

As an aside, my TL synch'ed all of my items today. I had changed the store url to point to the new store url eBay is using, to avoid the redirect.
Once finished, I did an export, as per my SOP. All of the fields, AdditionalDetails (a Returns field) are now blank, in keeping with the new Summer Update requirements.
Visually, the TL Return policy page...
The restocking fee and the final text box are no longer valid eBay listing fields and should be left blank. They have been removed from the online BEAR editor.
Additionally, I do not know if we will see an update for TL for this, but these options are now doubled. There are eBay options to set domestic and international returns seperately.

Just heard back from the TL folks. I didn’t realize that a Warning meant that I could still upload my items. I didn’t try as I thought it would not upload. Anyway, I was able to upload even with the warning message. Hoping for a TL update to get rid of the warning message but not sure if that will happen.

Hi dollybeauty, just saw your post. Can you explain about the new store URL and what you mean by redirect? I must have missed that. Thanks.
I will try removing the “NO” from “do you charge a restocking fee” field and see what happens.

Thank you dolly, I’ll make sure I change the URL in my listings.

I just got the same error warning, but was able to still upload all my listings.
I have a return policy of 30 days, buyer pays return shipping, no restocking fee. I did have additional information in the box provided in TL. I have removed that in my auction and fixed price return item policy in TL.
So, now how do I get TL to apply this new "no additional infor" policy to all my listings. I really, really, really don't want to go into all 143 of my listings and remove it.
Any help?

I did not remove my AdditionalDetails text on over 5000 listings. eBay did it for me.
Now, I had updated the store url on all of my listings. So the deletion of the other text may have just come along for the ride.
Try this...Go to your Active listings page, on eBay. Select all of your listings, Then click the Edit button and then Edit Selected. You are now in the BEAR editor...Just click Submit (without making changes).
Now got to Turbo and Synch. See if your listings have now 'lost' the Detail info text.

Terrific! Now I can pass that along as a workable solution to any who do not read this thread.
