Problem with font size in new listing tool

I was trying to write up some new listings the last couple of days and most seem to be ok when previewed.  However today the description on the first one I wrote shows up in preview with tiny font.  I click on the font option and it show I selected the recommended size 14 "simple formatting".   Not sure if this would upload with the correct font and I want to save listings until this weekend.  Any suggestions?

The droplist shows 14 is the selected value, but it has not necessarily been applied to your text (in fact, most likely, no font size has been applied). Highlight all of the text. Select a different font size (like 16) and then select font size 14. That change and back should cause the font size 14 to be applied.

Re: Problem with font size in new listing tool

You've managed to go much farther than I did in creating a listing or revising an existing one.  Everything is fine until I reach the DESCRIPTION part. I cannot add an existing template or create a new template. I cannot even write down a single word of the description. Nada. So it has been impossible for me to create a new listing in more than a week. If I try the SELL A SIMILAR option I usually used in creating a new listing it no longer works as it did before. It was so easy as I did not have to make majors changes to an old listing to create a new one. I have spent many hours trying to get results but it is simply not working. Oh why why must they always change what was working before ?

Try temporarily turning off your browser add-ons and ad-blockers to see if that makes a difference. Others have found that some can interfere with eBay codes.

Thanks ever so much shipscript,   that worked.  I sure wish that this new listing tool was easier to use, it seems to take twice as long to list items even when there are no problems.

The new listing tool was meant to look like the mobile app, so it appears to be mobile-device oriented. I don't think eBay truly understood that the reason desktop users stay with desktop is because they like a keyboard and mouse, with every option in full view, and don't like the maze-like mobile look and feel. However, those who do use the new tool on a tablet or phone are very happy with the design and finger-tap ease.  Use the feedback option, in the triple dots at the top of the new tool, to report issues that continue to fail to function for you. The new tool is still a work in progress.

Try incognito/private browser mode, as that will start with a fresh cache and no cookies. If that works, then clear your browser cache and eBay cookies.
If that doesn't work, try a different browser.

Can you describe what does not work?
Are you unable to get your mouse cursor to focus within the description editor?
Or within the editor toolbar?
Is nothing clickable?
What browser are you using? Is it current?

This is it in a nutshell.  It does not give us the user experience that we want and need.   That is why there are desktops and laptops and then there is mobile phones- they provide a completely different experience with both advantages and disadvantages.......The problem is, by trying to unify the experience they just gutted the advantages of a desktop and made it worse.   I dont think the mobile experience got better or worse- its fine.  It was not so much a unification as it is a simple forcing of ann awkward mobile module UI from a phone onto a desktop- not really even an adaptation just sticking on there- that is why it translates into popup boxes and a massive amount of extra clicks.

What baffles me is that every one of these designers and ebay teams ALL use desktops to do their jobs every day- not their phones..... how can they ignore that fact?

Re: Problem with font size in new listing tool

This fixes it, all right, many thanks.  In addition to the point size, I had to go in and select a random font, then switch back again to sans-serif Arial to get the supposed-default font active.  eBay ought to fix whatever it is to make sure that their default 14pt Arial is indeed what gets coded.
