I added a category yesterday, over 24 hours ago. When I try to add another category an error pops up "You cannot add categories until we've completed your previous request."
OK, the category I added is there. Just how long does it take to complete my request??
Anybody else run into this? And if so, how to fix it. Ebay is so hard to contact and understand when you finally get thru.

Same issues here. I've had my store almost 20 years with no problems and now this! I've restarted my machine, signed in, signed out, etc, and nothing changes. Nothing in categories works. Now my store looks bejumbled and I'm afraid I'm losing sales since I was able to delete and move some categories but not add any new ones so now I am without the old or the new. I am not very happy at the moment. Especially if this has been going on for several months. That's unheard of and there is no reason for it to drag on like this.

Having the exact same issues made one change yesterday in the categories and now i can't do anything just get the same message "You cannot add categories until we've completed your previous request." i thought it may resolve itself overnight but sadly no it is still throwing up the same message, very frustrating especially when you are paying ebay for the service of a shop

Same problem....Just got off the phone with Ebay customer support. The rep confirmed with me that only one category change can be made every 24 hours!!!
Guess I'll have my store reorganized by 2022. Ebay....please fix this

Try the Microsoft Edge browser...I've been making changes to categories left and right...no problem since I switched

I found a GREAT SOLUTION!
Instead of creating your own categories, use the eBay categories!
I found doing this moved everything into the appropriate eBay categories immediately, and reset the error.
I actually prefer this as the customer can sort by all of the eBay descriptors (size, color, price...) and saves hours of work.
Here's where to find it:
Manage Store> Edit Store> Category type> choose eBay Categories
This will also show if you accidentally put an item in the wrong eBay category.

I had this same problem. I was getting the "You cannot add categories until we've completed your previous request." even though I hadn't touched my store in a week.
I found that after doing some reordering of categories, I went back and I was again able to add categories. Doing some reordering seemed to have cleared the error (or it was a complete coincidence and it cleared itself??? mysteries).

Ebay moderators please fix this issue. I've tried three different browsers, logging in and out, and I've done one category change and I'm still having the same issues as everyone else. What is up with this?!! Very frustrating!

I've just started having this issue too, about 3 weeks ago. I left it, and have now come back to try adding a new store category, and it STILL says the same thing!

Also having this issue. First time in 6 months I've wanted to add a category and it gives this error message. Using google chrome but surely the fix isnt to change your browser. Got it to work...somehow. Perserverance.

Make sure any listing templates you have created are not using a category or sub category that was changed or deleted. Not 100% sure that is what fixed it for me but I stopped getting the error after.
