Organic Traffic & Sales Down + Offsite Ads Advertising Available

Hi everyone,

Is anyone else seeing an issue with "Single Digit" Organic Sales results with negative performance on Promoted Listing Standard?

We never had "access" to Offsite Google Ads under our Advertising Dashboard.  We just had a banner that asked if we wanted to participate in a Beta.  This week, we noted that "Offsite Ads" is now an option on our Advertising Dashboard.  Since we are experiencing little to no organic sales, we went ahead and tried to create a Offsite Ad Campaign.  That campaign was started yesterday morning, but no data is showing up.

elizabeth@ebay devon@ebay Wondering if we should have access to the Offsite Google Ads option?  Can anyone confirm that we should be using this new advertising option.

The reason sales are down is because ebay reduced or stopped paying for some google ads. They want their sellers to pay for their google ads via "Offsite Ads" In the past your monthly or yearly store charges and the selling fees paid the google ads.

So you now have to pay for promoted listings or your items may not be seen. Promotions are 10-15% and that keeps going up. So promoted listings plus your selling fees you are pay comes to 20-25% of a sales item. This new Offsite Ads is another money-making idea to squeeze more out of their sellers. They think we are all stupid and can't see through the smoke screen and see the big picture.

I tried the offsite ads beta last year when they were offering the credits. I learned from another eBay seller  that it can take several days for Google to populate ad information, and sometimes as much as 30 days.  So, ideally, if you plan to set up a campaign, you want to choose a decent block of time. At first I was doing a month at a time, but once I learned that, I set it up for Q4 and that went okay. I do think I got some sales that I might not have gotten otherwise, and the fact that I could get up to a $100 credit per month made it more worth it to me. I only had $27 worth of ads (and not as many sales) in October, but $112 in ads for November and $143 in ads for December, so in the end, I will have paid about $55 in ad fees for the sales I made after all my credits have posted (Oct and Nov adjustments have posted so far). Not sure if I really feel those same sales would have been worth it if I had to pay full price for the ads, though. I'm waiting to see what 2024 holds...
