Major Ebay Bug With Switching from Scheduled to Draft

First of all do NOT schedule a listing if you think you need to edit it.

Twice Ebay has messed me up.  First, they make it impossible to switch back from scheduled to draft. It should be simple but it's impossible. And little help on what to do.

Twice I scheduled some things and decided I wanted to add photos. Well, you can't. They tell you to create a new listing by clicking on sell similar, and only after you saved the new one as a draft should you delete the scheduled one. Twice now, I've lost two listings even though I followed those instructions.  And all that work, gone. When I try to click on the new draft, I get "looks like something's wrong, try again". That basically means, you're out of luck.  I had called someone the first time it happened, and they said they would have Ebay check on it, but I never heard back. Now I have to start from scratch again.

Ebay needs to make it possible to switch from scheduled to draft.

Re: Major Ebay Bug With Switching from Scheduled to Draft

That is not the way scheduling is supposed to work, so something is amiss.  And a scheduled listing can not be converted backward to a draft because a scheduled listing is technically listed and is given an item number, but is not yet live or visible on the site. As such, you should be able to make revisions to the scheduled listing in the same manner you can revise a live listing.  Yes, you can create a new draft by selecting "sell similar" and saving as a draft, but that was not your intent.

A scheduled listing should not be used as a rough draft, but can be used if you need more time to round up item specifics, photos, or descriptions.

I just created and posted a fixed price listing that is scheduled a week out. I then went in and changed the listing category, deleted photos and added new ones, changed the item specifics, and altered the description. Scheduling has always worked this way on my desktop version of the Advanced/Business listing form.

If you are not using a desktop browser, or if you are using the mobile app, you may see different behavior, and that may be the root of the problem.  An emerging theme among sellers is to create listings on the desktop and then add photos from their phones using the mobile app.  If that is your strategy, and where the issue arises, we need to have eBay look at the interaction between the different software products.
