My buyer asked me to hold a rather hot buy it now item and ship later - I contacted eBay through the chat line and they will consider reversing the penalty for late shipping later. Later doesn't cut it. But when I logged back in tonight to work, found the following. Be wary, other sellers, I was charged a whopping rude inconsiderate two cents for customer service. Proof - eBay doesn't know what customer service means. - oh, yes, it does, another way to gouge (even at two cents) the buyers who make eBay possible. (The email may not upload but at two cents: Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied. Guess they don't want to spend any more money with more sophisticated technology. Can you tell I am livid with irritation?)

eBay can't give dispensation in advance of the event. In your listing, you have a stated or estimated delivery date.
If the buyer sends a request through eBay messages, asking for delayed shipping, I would recommend that your shipping not be delayed beyond eBay's Money Back Guarantee window. That means it should arrive within 30 days of the estimated delivery date shown at purchase because that is the buyer's window for protection. If you can't meet that window, I recommend declining the request.
Should you choose to delay shipping at buyer request, you will be penalized by eBay because they are unaware of the request. At that "later" time, you can contact customer support and show them the eBay message where the buyer requested the delay, and mention that you made sure they were still protected by delivering within the 30-day buyer-protection window.
As to your 2 cents chat, was someone making a joke? You can't post emails here, but how did the 2 cents come about?
