I sometimes use a Google Chrome book laptop to look for Ebay items and it no longer allows me to do an items search. Someone suggested I download Firefox, and I tried this and it would not download. Does anyone know if there is anything else I can do to do an item search with a Chromebook? I have no problems doing an item search with my other larger laptops although I noticed a few times there were problems.

What happens when you try to search for an item on eBay using a Chromebook?
You should be able to search using Chrome or the eBay app on a Chromebook.
Installing Firefox was easy on an old ASUS eee PC, but newer Chromebooks may require some additional steps. Google your model name and "install Firefox" to see what is involved.

I'm sorry I meant to say I can't do a category search. I have no problem doing an item search. It's when I click on a category when I'm in an item. The screen freezes and then nothing shows up.

If you have trouble viewing a category, try clearing your browser cache. That has helped me in the past when category pages do not load.

I tried it and it still doesn't work.

What category and how are you trying to reach it?

It's any category. Like when you are on an item at the top it will say, Collectibles-Militaria-World War Two.........
If I click on any of those links it will not go through, it will just freeze.

What browser are you using? Have you tried another?
I had a problem recently viewing categories from links at the top of the page in one browser; clearing my browser cache ("for all time" if that is an option) fixed that for me, I believe. I may have deleted my eBay cookies as well.

I use the Google Chrome book browser. I think I mentioned I tried to download Firefox and it would not download. Can I try to download another browser besides Firefox?

Sorry, you did mention that earlier in the thread, I missed that when I replied.
I think you can install Firefox as an Android app in a Chromebook (at least that was possible at one time). It is also possible to install a Linux version, but that is more complicated.
Not sure what version of Chromebook you have, but here is some general info that should apply to recent models:
https://www.techradar.com/how-to/how-to-install-firefox-on-a-chromebook
Info about installing the Firefox Android app is at the end of that article.
When clearing your cache in Chrome, be sure to specify "for all time" if that is an option; the default may be to clear a few recent cache files, and that may not fix the issue.

I actually looked it up online and it said to download it in the Google ap store so I did that. It did download, however when I use it, it is completely useless as it flashes and gives me a strange looking Ebay page.
