Forgive me if this topic is obvious to some of you Turbo Lister users out there, but if it helps just one person, I figured it was worth my time to post.
After receiving the Chrome HTTP/HTTPS issue email from ebay and running the test on all my listings (2,500+), it was discovered that all my listings were unsecure. Why? Because of the TL and eBay logos within. So, I was told that I needed to download the latest TL update which would fix the issue for future listings. I had recently done a database backup, so I performed the update...kind of. The update crashed TL so it would no longer function.
After days of repeated emails to eBay/TL and phone discussions, I was convinced that the issue was with TL and not my database. TL however told me the problem must be a corrupted or too-large database, even after they informed me that their updates had to be done in sequencial order, one at a time, etc., or they wouldn't work. I tried uninstalling/installing no less than 25 times, tried every possible combination of restorations, installs, compacting databases, etc., but nothing worked. The final call with TL ended up with me being told that I was out of luck, that the problem was my database, I'd have to start over with a new database, and that there was nothing they could do.
Having many years of listings in my database that I didn't want to lose, and knowing that my database worked w/out issue before downloading the new TL update, I refused to give up. So, after having already spent days of trying to figure things out and ready to pull the trigger on saying farewell to eBay and starting my new website, I tried one last thing that worked. I made a copy of my database to a remote location, removed it from my computer, and uninstalled (including the database) the program. I then reinstalled the program one last time. Voila! TL installed properly, my database (which I moved back into the TL Backup Folder) loaded properly, and everything works as it used to. No corrupt database file, just a TL issue, which has so often been found to be the case.
So, I hope this helps someone else out there, as I spent days and countless hours trying to figure it out.
