Hi all
Am new to bulk listing and have been playing around with test file templates with no luck!
I was hoping that if I had product UPC/EAN then I would be able to use a template with limited additional fields in it as the remaining could be autopopulated, but that doesn't seem to be working for me.
I will have the UPC/EAN for all the items I want to list and am trying to work out what is the minimum no of additional product information fields that I need in order to be able to upload and sell, but I get errors every time and I'm not totally clear what is an issue and what's just a warning and if UPC/EAN is enough to create a listing.
Does anyone have any experience of bulk uploading using UPC/EAN that can help??

FileExchange does not auto-populate fields.

It does mention this in the instructions for file exchange though:
Product:UPC
N/A
Boolean
Use 1 (for True) or 0 for False.
The Universal Product Code (UPC), which provides standard product information about the item. We search for a matching product to use in the listing.
Product fields enable you to automatically add product information directly from our catalog to your
listings. Product fields are explained in Product code and details fields.
For example, when you include Product:UPC in your template, we locate the specific product in our catalog and automatically add the title, description, and stock photo to your listing. If you include Product:IncludePreFilledItemInformation in your template, we automatically insert the manufacturer, model, and other product details from our catalogue into your listing.
So theoretically if I add Product:UPC it should add the detail to my listing. But it’s not working when I try, and even if it did work, I’m not sure what other fields are mandatory to have in the file alongside the UPC.

"We search for a matching product to use in the listing." What if the item is not in the product catalog?
"Product fields enable you to automatically add product information directly from our catalog to your
listings." Again...What if the item is not in eBay's product catalog?
Note: The FileExchange Advanced Instructions have not been updated since Oct 2015. We have asked for updated info, but have yet to see any update,
I can find no place where it say "Product:UPC" is a boolean field, with the options you mention. Please respond with the page number in the AdvancedInstruction where you see this.

@zoes108 - Thank you for sharing your concern regarding using the Product Catalog headers with us.
As long as your product is in our catalog we can generate Product Details from your Product:UPC information.
Here are other optional headers that will generate Pre-filled Information:
If you have UPC information, you'll need to provide that under Product:UPC:
If your listings still doesn't show any Pre-filled information, then the UPC you provided isn't part of our catalog.
If you are still needing help with the file you uploaded, I can offer additional assistance by viewing the file you uploaded. Please provide a sample of the file or the upload file reference number.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
