Gallery/thumbnail photos not showing....yet again.

Photos in the auction are just fine. EBay says the first pick will automatically go to the gallery pic. However, over 1/2 of what I just uploaded have "gallery photo issues."

I have deleted all of the item descriptions incase coding was an issue...didn't work, and now I have no item descriptions too!

So please tell me  what is going on! 250 items this time, but we are still trying to work on a store and 2m items...but if 25% screw up on the upload, then that doesn't work!

Re: Gallery/thumbnail photos not showing....yet again.

Since your uploads are pulling photos from your server, the problem is that some percentage of these server-to-server transloads are failing. Those listings with no thumbnails are where your own server did not deliver an image in a timely manner, so eBay has nothing on their server. Instead, images within those listings are delivered from your own server, rather than from eBay.  The listings with thumbnails have successfully transloaded images to eBay servers, and eBay was able to add the zoom feature to those listings.

Your photos may be around 300KB each. The textual content of your spreadsheet is negligible compared to the image sizes — the original description is only 3KB in size, so not an issue.

You may need to upload smaller batches in the future.  The solution to your current problem is to gather up the listings with failed images and then re-upload just the images.  Your revision spreadsheet would need only three columns:

ActionItemIDPicURL
Revise123456783333https://www.odditycards.com/Odditycards/2023/DSCN4373.JPG
Revise234567892222https://www.odditycards.com/Odditycards/2023/DSCN4889.JPG

For your listings that are missing descriptions, I assume you still have a spreadsheet with descriptions (or perhaps it is just boilerplate. Use three columns to revise:

ActionItemIDDescription
Revise123456784444This is the missing description.
Revise234567895555This is the missing description.

Re: Gallery/thumbnail photos not showing....yet again.

For all who had this happen to them, it appears eBay has also changed the default formatting to its buyer view on search listings which only displays the title and no longer shows the thumbnail picture.

To fix this, buyers will be forced to change the default settings by clicking on the settings drop down and selecting "Picture" to be in their search listings. Yet again another example of eBay providing unwanted changes to their platform. If you are a seller, definitely a push to start focusing on SEO optimization...

@shipscript

Yes...that is the answer I keep getting from eBay.  Might you have a suggestion as to WHERE I should host my photos so that they work?

"smaller batches" doesn't work for me as we are trying to list (eventually) close to 2mil items!  Currently have ready to go 300,000+.  Currently hosting though GoDaddy services our photos and (eventually if this doesn't work with eBay) or website.

@geonut

If using Godaddy, you may need a dedicated server. Most of Godaddy's offerings are shared servers. Some users have had success with large-scale photo storage sites like Google and Dropbox, but I don't have personal experience with them.
