I guess the update broke something last night.
I have a template that I put in all my listings. It's Arial 14pt.
When I add the actual description above the template info, it's always smaller but looks like the same font. Previously, I'd just highlight my added description info, click away, and it would adjust to match the 14 pt. font size of the template info. That was an accidental workaround I figured out.
Now, the highlight/click away trick doesn't work, but I was able to change the size to 18 pt, then back to 14 and it all matched UNTIL I posted the listings. Now it's small and a totally ugly font that I hate. I hate that it doesn't match. I hate that it ignored what I chose. I hate it!
I want to be able to pick the font type/size AND have it match my template. I'm attempting to use the options I'm given, but once I click to list the item, my choice is ignored and it goes to the ugly font and much smaller (that size is not even an option in the size for Arial - 14 is the smallest option, but what's showing is smaller than that, maybe 12 or 10.)
Anyone know of a workaround?

The default value in the text tools will display as Arial 14, but that does not mean the text is tagged that way. In fact, if you change the dropdown value to 18 and start clicking around, you will find that it will show 18 everywhere, except where the text is actually tagged. Unfortunately, that's the way eBay's text editor has always worked.
To make styling stick, the text editing tools must actually be changed from one value to another. So, if you want 14pt text, highlight the text you want to change, click something like 18, and then click back to 14 so that the editor sees a change in the value in the droplist. Same with the font.
Your template was a good workaround to this problem. Unfortunately, your description has always been outside your template, but you never noticed because your browser had its default text changed from Times to Arial. It wasn't until your browser updated or changed, and reverted back to Times, that you noticed this issue. The browser's defaults are used whenever text is not styled.
To add to the confusion, eBay's editor shows unstyled text in Arial font, just as your browser used to show unstyled text in Arial font, so sellers think that is what they will see in the listing.
If you want to fix your current 34 listings, I think one option is to open each one in HTML view and add this to the very top of the HTML view:
<div style="font-family:arial; font-size:14pt">
And add this code to the very end of the HTML code:
</div>
That should style anything that is remains unstyled.
Going forward, I think it would be safer to modify your template to include a placeholder for the description text.

This is what I see:
Does your template consist of only the boilerplate?
Looking at your listing code, it appears that your description was pasted outside of your template, so it is not controlled by the styles in your template.
You may want to modify your template to include an XXXXXX placeholder for your description. Paste your template first, and then add your description at the placeholder. In your modification process, you may want to clean up some of the code errors in the template. I'll be happy to help with that.

I just tried to revise one of the listings from today with the wrong font & it shows up in the revision description box as Arial, but when I save, it reverts to Times New Roman.
I think I already said this, but I HATE IT lol.

I'm sorry. I have no idea what any of that means.
On the create a listing page, above the description box is a drop down. I click it and choose a template that adds everything from "Where did we find this fabulous item?" on down. I typed that up in Feb or March but couldn't tell you where - I think right there on the same 'create a listing page'. I just add it to each item by clicking on it and then copy/paste the title but add to it in the description box. I know we're not supposed to copy/paste the title, and I guess that has started to cause this issue all of a sudden? It just seems dumb to retype the same thing.
I don't know what anything you said means lol. I took screenshots of what it looks like in the revision window after clicking "Revise this item" on the live listing, and then what it looks like after I save the changes.

"Going forward, I think it would be safer to modify your template to include a placeholder for the description text."
Thank you very much!
To be clear, I should just add XXXXXX (as a placeholder?) at at the very beginning of my template?
As it is, I just click on the custom template. It pastes and leaves blank space above it where I type the description.
Should I add the "placeholder" several lines above the template text or just a space in between the Xs and the first word of template text?
Thank you for the code. I'll update all 34 listings.

The placeholder should be inside your template, not above it. The purpose of the placeholder will be to ensure the description is added to the correct location.
Below is a makeover of your template. When you click your template name, select "manage". Then get to the HTML view of the template editor to replace your existing template code with this new code and save the template. You should then be able to insert the template in new listings and add your description where the placeholder text ("add description here") shows. If you use sell-similar on a description that contains your old template, simply delete the description, insert your new template, and add your new description text.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
You really helped me out a lot!
Confession:
I vaguely remember some HTML from "back in the dial-up days" that I learned on these very forums from a guy named Bob. Bob's HTML Tips. That was when we were allowed two free photos using the standard listing tool but could insert more into the listings without charge, along with colors and whatnot using HTML code. (I could hand wash a sink full of dishes in the time it took to upload the 2 free pics on dial-up hahaha!)
That was a very long time ago, and it brought back those memories as I copy/pasted the code you provided me for my existing listings.
eBay University gave us a little spiral book with some basic HTML code too. I probably still have that somewhere in a box. I won a giant eBay t-shirt too. Good times!
Thanks again. You're a gem!

Yes, those were the good ole days. Bob and I became good friends on the HTML forum. That forum was his lifeblood until he passed in 2008. There were many truly good people there, and it was fun being creative with HTML. Thanks for the memory.

Is there a way to select a 16 point font?
