Hello,
I am trying to update the "Size" variation type on 1159 existing listings via the File Exchange by changing each to Shape=xxx but I keep getting the error below, any ideas?
Error - Size is not allowed as a variation specific.|Invalid variation specific|
Thank You

I don't know if there is something wrong with the file or with the uploader. I had a similar problem last weekend with a file that kept failing. I closed down my computer for the night. The next day, I cleared cookies and cache, gave the file a new name, and uploaded successfully.
I also can't tell, from the formatting, whether the file structure itself is sound. Is the file comma delimited or tab delimited? Are the inch marks double quoted in the file? Are you uploading to File Exchange or to Seller Hub?

Thanks, it is comma separated then saved to xlsx and I am using the Seller Hub currently because I kept running into the daily file upload limit on File Exchange.

Hi,
I cleared the cache and tried again and also tried this as a CSV file and no luck, is there a was to attach files here?

OK I got this to work finally lol, I just did not re-add the 4 variations I wanted to delete in the spreadsheet.
Now I just need a way to automat the deletion of the 4 rows in the spreadsheet generated by the Variation tool.

I think the 5000-row daily upload limit that applies to a spreadsheet uploaded through the File Exchange portal may also apply to the same spreadsheet file uploaded to the Hub.
There is no way to attach files here, but you can expand the menu at the top of the dialog editor here and use the </> tool to paste the underlying CSV content into the code box that opens.
If you are editing XLSX and exporting to CSV, then the CSV data could be pasted to the code box here.
I don't think there is any way to automate removal of the unwanted rows in the tool itself. You could simply delete rows in the codebox before saving the file in the tool, or you could remove them in your spreadsheet tool.
Just make sure that the picture URL that is wiped out belongs to the item you are removing. It should line up in most cases in the tool, although one seller went online and manually eliminated an item within the listing, probably not completely, so the pictures did not align with the items in the spreadsheet row. I think this is a very rare situation.
There is no requirement that the pictures align with the variation specifics in the spreadsheet because pictures are separately assigned to a variation name using the equal sign in the cell. That picture cell is allowed to be on any row, in any order, under the PicURL header.
