I need to find a workaround to disable ebays disabled shopping cart since it fails to work properly...
#1 my settings are all correct and not set on immediate payment required.
Here is the problem:
Lets say you are the buyer and come to my store and want numerous items say 2 decals...now these decal weigh almost nothing and fit into the USPS class bracket #1 which is 4oz or less and that would be on the buyers end approx 4-5.00, OK. Now add the 2nd decal, which will weigh the same, almost nothing and combining it to the first one should equal virtually no change and be approx 4-5.00......NOT ON EBAY it doesn't ebay takes it upon themselves to add the two together making the cost of shipping to the buyer at 8.00-10.00 for 2 decals, Now no one believes that it could cost that much to ship 2 decals(if you wanted 4 decals shipping would exceed 20.00!)....It gets better ebay also fails to notify you the seller that there is a cash in hand buyer with items in the cart wanting to purchase them while the buyer assumes you are ignoring him or that you do not combine shipping and as a result he goes somewhere else like a competitors platform who does NOT have these issues. Ebay also forces the buyer to pay for the items before they can request a new total and that is if the button is even there, you will also be glad to know that any buyer using the phone app cannot use the button because there is NONE, don't believe me call ebay and ask them. This also results in the potential of getting a neg feedback by those buyers who did pay the overcharged shipping as well as dinging only 1 star on the "reasonable shipping cost" star bar in the feedback dashboard. Which other buyers use to judge you by and ebay who can penalize you for it even though it was caused by ebay....now before you say just use free shipping, no thanks as the carriers prices change almost as fast as the weather and then you get squeezed in the middle and have to revise your prices to reflect the increased costs...maybe ok if you have a hand full of list but try doing that with 3000+ plus listings every time,,,,NO THANKS. NONE of my items are marked for immediate payment. NO shipping rules can be created for item that range from 4oz to 40-50 lbs and many multiple variables of the shipping box.
NOW before someone thought the cart was a good idea the way things USED to work was near flawless. A buyer would come to the store and commit to purchase as many items as he wished(not being forced to pay once committed) the buyers items would show up in my seller hub as unpaid form this buyer, I would click on send an invoice and all his chosen items would show up in a new window with check boxes beside each item which would give the seller a way to combine what items that could be safely shipped together and a reasonable shipping cost could be determined and sent back to the buyer for payment.... THE ONLY Issue there was if the buyer had paid in advance for any of the items which those could not be combined due to ebay blocking sellers from making any changes to that transaction......Again before you say my cart works fine, does it really and how do you know, since ebay does NOT notify you that there is a buyer with a cart trying to check out and cannot and simply leaves and you are none the wiser! So since ebay fails to do anything about this even after countless phone calls (2 today) and IT tickets written and ebay techs admitting this is a major issue. Finding a way to disable the cart is the last option to be able to capture sales....now on a collective whole across the platform if it is happening to me it is happening to you and think for a moment how much ebay loses in the course of 1 day of lost fees from lost sales....I been here 27+ years and came here to sell items and NOT have ebay get in the middle and lose sales....ebay need to stay in its own wheelhouse at connecting buyers with seller an stay out of shipping which obviously they know nothing about! here is a question from a buyer today as proof..

"I would like to order multiple, different stickers in one shipment but not with a $6.00 per sticker shipping charge. Can’t you include all stickers with one shipping charge?" and notice the last line which does not even have a zero nor has ever...

Do Free Shipping. Buyers like Free Shipping; they think they are getting something for free.

free shipping only works in a stable environment where the carriers do not raise rates as fast as the weather changes, othewise the seller must continue to revise each it to reflect the increased cost of shipping, as we all know even the buyer there is no such thing as free shipping, someone somewhere is going to pay for it and USPS has yet to offer me free shipping.

Have you set up any combined shipping rules for your decals? After you do so, you can apply that rule to specific listings.

No as there are way too many variables with 3000 + listings that range from decals to exhaust parts which buyers chose various items that require endless combinations when combining in both weight and packaging. As I stated it worked quite well before the cart. Even if it was only a case of setting up shipping rules for just decals, the cart still fails to function properly ranging from non working request button to no button at all(phone user apps) which is basically why I have no use for the cart causing lost sales...I have had numerous high level tech look at my shipping preferences and find no issues, the one yesterday ran thru it and tried step by step and made the comment that options that used to there to set up a preference are no longer there either and wrote a High Priority IT ticket on it as well as a few other issues, much like numerous other techs have. He also said that if there are few complaints on this issue chances are nothing will be done..to which I responded you are not going to get many complaints because a seller in unaware of the issue, here is why. Since ebay fails to notify a seller that a buyer has a cart with items in it nor give the buyer the ability to request a new total the seller is unaware,UNLESS the buyer actually messages the seller, so eventually after buyer getting frustrated and blaming the seller he will "abandon" the car and go elsewhere,,whereas the seller is entirely unaware that he is losing sales and would have no reason to file a complaint...and when a buyer leaves the chances are of him returning to the same seller to purchase items are slim and creates a poor judgement of the seller even though it was due to no part on the seller nor the seller being aware of what transpired. and for example of a buyer who has reached out to me it spotlights the issue quite well...

Which also ebay does NOT provide a way to create an invoice for this buyer...now back when ebay and paypal were still partners and an issue would crop up one could generate an invoice thru paypal to salvage the sale which is why we are all here in the first place is to sell and sell as much as possible and not be hindered or lose sales because of a non functioning platform....also while I only sell on ebay I do buy off other platforms like Amazon etsy ebid Walmart etc NONE have these issues and one would think after 30+ years ebay would have have figured these issues out...but apparently not.
