i bought a pair of north face pants that were $79 and about $10 shipping all total about $83. I got them and they were too short for my liking. I knew i had to pay the return fee of $6.50. But when i recieved my return credit it was only for $66. WTH?! on the persons ebay site it doesnt say original shipping fees will not be returned. it only says buyer pays return shipping. Is this right? I have never had any other person on ebay not refund me the whole amount minus return shipping. Should i contact ebay? i have sent about 2 messages to the seller and no response. thanks for any help.

Yes, that's how it works. When a separate ship cost is charged, it's not refunded when you're returning an item because it didn't fit or you didn't like it.
If other sellers refunded you the full amount it's either because:
- they were doing something they were not required to do and taking a financial loss because you changed your mind about a purchase
- they offered "free" shipping so there was no separate ship cost to deduct
- there was a problem with the item like it was broken or the seller shipped the wrong item

You don't expect the seller to pay the shipping to you because you don't like the fit? Your lucky others did

To expand on @wastingtime101's reply, I'll add that the seller has a choice of whether they want to refund the original shipping amount. (Personally, I don't do it because that's money I already spent to send the item to the buyer. Sellers don't get it back so most sellers don't refund it.)

You returned because you don't like the fit so why should seller be out money for you not liking item?
