I just sold a rare vintage mini Tanto knife with lots of pics and measurements 8 3/4". The buyer told me it was a great knife and he liked it but wants to return it because he says he bought it for a birthday present for his son and his son wants a bigger knife. Is this a legitimate reason for ebay to issue a return? I'm confused.

You have a "14 days returns. Buyer pays for return shipping" so you HAVE to accept the return. 

 

I assume that the buyer simply messaged you asking to return it or the return would have been accepted automatically.

 

Respond to the buyer to open a return request for "changed mind" and it'll go through. He'll have to pay for return shipping. 

 

You don't issue the refund until you receive it. 

 

Easy peasy.

Hi, This has happened to me a few times and I also offer a 1 day return policy. Just email the buyer ask him to open a return "changed mind" . He pays for shipping . Like the first poster said please don't refund buyer until you have received item back and inspect it to make sure it is i n the same condition you sold it as. After this email it is up to buyer to initiate the return he does have a time frame to do so .

 

I also understand the hassle and disappointment with this, but like you offer the 14 day return so I would honor this is it were me .

Do you mean that the return was accepted automatically? Or that a refund was issued automatically? 

 

If the buyer requested a return for remorse, it SHOULD have been accepted automatically? So why are you asking how to handle it? Wait to receive the item and issue the refund.

I guess I am confused about why you are confused. You clearly accept returns...if this is within the 14-day timeframe why are you confused?

This is the return policy you have enabled:

 

Return policy

After receiving the item, contact seller within Refund will be given as Return shipping

14 daysMoney BackBuyer pays for return shipping

Where are you seeing that anyone wrote about a 1 day return policy?
