Hello ebayers! I need some help! I sold a bag from 70s to US. Buyer opened a case for returning the item. She wants a full refund and a prepaid shipping label. I checked - this will cost me $100. It's not worth it. I asked the buyer to check how much will be the shipping back with USPS - no answer. Advise me how to make the buyer returning me the item, cause if I don't provide a shipping label, ebay will give her a refund and the buyer will get both - money and bag. The reason for returning is cause the item is defective - defective attaching rivet. Maybe in the past, it was changed.

What you should do is reply to the buyer, from the return request. If the buyer only messaged you without opening a return request ask them to do that for item not as described. Tell them you cannot buy shipping labels from abroad for package shipping originating in the U.S.. Ask them to repack measure and weigh the package for the bag. If it weighs less than 4lbs, they can get the price from The United States Postal Service (USPS) site for First Class package international service. They can also go to the UPS, or FedEx sites to get international shipping option prices with tracking. Once they receive the funds, they will have 5 business days to ship the item, and if they do not, you can ask ebay to close the dispute and get the return shipping funds returned. T
Tell them once you know the various shipping prices, if there is a price you can afford, you will send them the funds to purchase the shipping label. Otherwise your only other option would be to let them keep the bag and refund the purchase and shipping cost.
For future reference, you may want to reconsider shipping outside of Europe, because of the higher shipping rates.

The problem is, that the buyer didn't answer me at all and ebay will decide to give a refund.

Personally I would cut my losses and would just refund the buyer and let them keep the bag.
This is one of the primary reasons I don't ship internationally.

problem is you refund them with out return or return for refund.
That is your only options.
If you are going to let them keep the item then refund em and write it off:
Refunds on expensive shipping are always a problem:
one has to decide how much loss one can take in doing such.

@pepinoleather... ^^^ THIS ^^^
After all, you already know that your defective bag is coming back... it'd be a hard sell next time, too. Good luck.

Bummer. They can get free stuff that way and they know it. With every sale your wagering the cost of shipping both ways with the profit from the sale. It's not always a good bet to place.
