return shipping

bought a part for my vehicle and found out it did not fit even though the item had the green checkmark saying it was correct. started a return item request. the seller now tells me it will cost too much to ship back and wants me to keep the item and sell it to get my money back. he also says he will refund me $15 out of the $200 i paid. This item shipped to me from a state next to me. im assuming this seller is located overseas. Seems to me this is outside of ebay guidelines, or is it not?

Sounds like an 'item not as described'...it's not unusual to get a wrong item from a seller.

Open claim and seller needs to send a shipping label to return it.

And no need to respond to seller's emails.

Hopefully you chose it Didn't Fit My Vehicle or Not As Described when you started the return.

If the seller doesn't accept the return and pay return shipping, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

Have a great day.

The exact same thing happened to me, although the product was shipped from the United States when I entered the seller's information it is registered in China. When I received the address to return the product, I had to send it to China instead of the United States where it was originally shipped from. Now before buying something I always check where the seller is registered. I only buy from those registered in the United States.

If the listing says it was located in the US, seller should give a US return address.

Hopefully you filed an INAD and the seller had to pay to return it to China.

Have a great day.
