return process

hello, i'm a fairly new seller and i having being return for the first time....do i have to pay for the shipping back to me or the customer covers that....how do i proceed with this process , thank you in advance

Who pays return shipping is dependent on your return policy and the reason for the return.

 

If it's buyer's remorse (didn't fit, changed my mind, etc) usually the buyer pays.

If it's damaged or not as described, the seller pays.

 

Do you see the option in the Return dispute to accept it and use eBay generated return labels - it should state there who will be charged.

I checked your listings and I see 14 day return/ Buyer pays for return shipping cost. So, it all depends on your case. It's wise to keep a single policy for all listings. Some members have several policies and it works for them. Each item is different. Seller's approach varies. 

 

Go to case details and check, see if you have to provide a label. You'll get a message from eBay instructing you how you could go forward with the Return Request upon final decision made against you. It will tell you to send a label. 

 

eBay will send an email to Buyer, as well, under subject matter: “Send the item back”. eMail has all the details of your return. Buyer needs to ship the item back before the date stated in that eMail. This eMail is essentially the same one coming to your message box, explained above. eMail is generated after a label is ready for Buyer. In case of anything else but INAD(item not as described), damaged item ... every other return shipping label is Buyer's responsibility. 

 

To keep your status and working your way to be a Top Seller, keep eBay out of your affairs. eBay is like that angry boss who doesn't want to be bothered with. You don't want to get penalize by the Big Guy. 

 

The first eMail you get from eBay about the Return Request made by your Buyer is the most important of all other messages. Making a wise decision in that point, will take care of all of problems coming your way.
