return a broken item

I received an item not in the original packaging. It came broken in two places. I printed the receipt but my account doesn't show the order number in the history.

I have searched the order# several different times and no history.

Am I out of luck?

What is my next step?

Go to My ebay>purchase history>(scroll to the item)>more actions>return this item>arrived damaged, then click 'next' and follow the steps.
