partial refund

A buyer requested to return 1 of the 2 items of the listing. He returned it but I am not sure how to refund partial since the return isn't giving me that as a choice. I believe it will refund all if I choose "refund buyer".

just go to your sold items - on left next to the item you can click on refund buyer. This allows you to choose only the amount you want. But Ebay won't refund the fees for that amount.

Depends on if a buyer 'opened an official return'

If they did, then you have no choice but to refund for the entire transaction. 

If you don't, the buyer escalates and then eBay just takes it ALL from you and refunds the customer.

Did buyer open an 'official' refund? 

Did buyer purchase 'both' items in 1 transaction?
