I have requested a return of the item I bought, and the seller complied.
I went thru all the steps, during which time eBay offered to print label for $18.08, or QR code for the same amount. I presumed the cost of mailing the item back was $18.08
Printed and attached label, went to see "Labels", and it now shows that the label cost me $67.47 (!!!!).
WHY, eBay, did you change the price?
I terminated the return, for now. But really don't know what to do - there's no way to contact Cust NoService.

What are you returning? I'm assuming it's a remorse return since you are paying the shipping cost. Is it an oversized (> 1 cubic foot) package?
More information please.

I'm returning a car starter. It's a bit heavy, but the box is reasonable size (4" tall, 12-14" long, 7-8" wide).
It came form the seller who charged me <$25 for shipment. So $18.08 looked reasonable...until I listed return labels....

Will it fit in a large USPS flat rate box?

yes. it did fit. That's what I used. Tried to cancel horrendous eBay-supplied and eBay-issued $67.57 label, no luck. Keeping my fingers crossed they WILL NOT deduct if from my refund. And, note to myself: don't use eBay. Period. They are crooks.

You haven't said... but if the label you printed was for UPS or FedEx, it won't be charged if not used. If you voided a USPS label, it'll take 10-14 days to see the refund. Hang in there...

Yes, I hope that is what's going to happen. I was advised by eBay customer service not to use the label.

Ebay just soaked me for $4.85 for a return label. When did all this business start? I thought return labels were free?! They used to be, now I have to make sure that the purchase is exactly what I want or I do not buy. Sellers ought to complain about this change.

Sellers do complain about this charge but not in the manner you think. Return labels are NEVER free, the seller pays for it unless the buyer initiates a remorse return. Please do make sure items are exactly what you want because it gets expensive shipping an item to a customer and paying to have it shipped back, on cheaper items it's often a loss.
