Woke up to a message that a pair of Nikes were being sent back to me not from the buyer but from the authenticator. The reason was “more wear than described” yet these shoes were immaculate! I’m so confused. The part that I hate is that it’s not even the buyer who viewed all photos and decided to purchase them and agreed with the description, but the authenticator? and you cannot contact the buyer due to some fine print. I will repost them once I get them back and I guess I’ll have to not put my opinion on condition of the shoe? Just put pre owned and call it a day? Once I get the shoe back I will also appeal. I’m just worried now that I might be scammed by this authenticator because there’s no way there was more wear on these shoes then described and pictured! I’m about to delete all my Nike shoes and sell on another platform if this is how this process works 😡

One umpires calls a strike another can say it was a ball.   It's gotten out of hand. First they only checked it was legit brand. Now it's everything.

Did you list the pair as new?  And did you have pictures of everything in the listing?

I hope that you get your shoes back.  Let us know if you got scammed by the Ebay authenticators.  It would not be the first time that someone there lifted a pricey item and put in a fake item.  The buyer probably got an email from Ebay stating the the shoes were being returned to the buyer.  Make sure that you take crystal clear photos of any items that you list especially the more expensive ones. Ebay now allows up to 24 photos.

The authenticating service is inconsistent and unreliable.

 

I sold a pair of shoes, new in the box, never worn, but because they were purchased over ten years ago (and had sat preserved/protected on a display shelf) they fought me on the description of "new" since they were in effect 10 years old and therefore could not have been "new".

 

So I had to relist the shoes as "used/worn" despite have never been worn, despite never having been removed from the product box (included in listing), despite having the original receipt... etc.

 

Thankfully I contacted the buyer using his usernname and explained the situation and he repurchased them anyways at the same price but with the new listing description.

 

Very poor experience and what makes me most upset is they're subsidizing this stupid program by raising fees across the board in other categories.

Thank you for your reply! I am hoping the shoes I sent are the ones I get back and I will Relist as used just to avoid a future issue.  The buyers should be able to make the final decision as long as it’s authenticated, ridiculous. I will see if I can reach out to the buyer once I get them back.

Do you have 2 exact pairs of these? The ones that sold in December was listed as new without box. You currently have a pair listed with the exact same information and pictures as pre-owned. If you don't have shoes back yet what are you going to do if you sell them and you don't receive the same shoes back or at all??

Thanks for your reply! I updated the info for all my shoes to say pre owned whether new or not to avoid future issues 🤷🏽‍♀️ I hate that I have to do that. I didn’t realize I apparently hit relist for these, put them back into my drafts . I still have not received the shoes back nor does it show any tracking info from the authenticator. I’m not sure how or where to find that info. The only tracking info listed is the one I provided to the authenticator.  Contacted eBays automated agent and that’s of no help. Does anyone know where to find this info? The agent referred me to the “case” with the details but it doesn’t show a new tracking from authenticator.
