I returned the product by using the label that eBay provided. I sent the product by USPS and got the tracking number from the receipt of the USPS.
But when I input the tracking number into the eBay system, I was told that "It cannot be recognized" even this number can be searched on the USPS website. Then when I cut the last two numbers from the original tracking number, the eBay system accepted it. But is there any problem to input the only first 20 digits tracking number here? After all, the original tracking number from USPS is 22 digits.
Thanks.

If eBay issued the label and you printed it, packed the item and taped the label on it, took the package to Post Office, handed it to a clerk and got a receipt, you're done. You don't need to upload a tracking number. eBay already has the number

If you used a shipping label provided by Ebay, the tracking number should already be added to the return case.

Thank you. And also I reported the bug to eBay and hoped that they can fix it.

Impossible, he has proof of mailing the package even if there would be an issue with tracking
