UNOPENED!

I posted this on here somewhere yesterday but I can't find it now. ON 2/12 I sold an item that went to MD. on 2/17, I got notified it was received. On 2/19, I got msg from buyer stating that the item was damaged. He refused delivery, and sent it back to me. On 2/21 I received the item back, in the same box, unopened. there was no damage to my item, tho the box was a bit beat up. On  2/ 22 I contacted Ups about a claim and they refused it because there was no damge to my item. I contacted ebay to try to report buyer and ebay said 'please give full refund'. I basically spent $30.00 to send a $65 item to Md for the weekend.  I got my item back, but I'll never make anything on it if I sell it. I don't understand how ebay can stand against sellers like this. Anything I can do to protect myself from this in the future besides leave ebay?

Re: UNOPENED!

You should be able to fight this if tracking shows at refused and returned to sender. Buyers lose protection when they refuse an item.

Re: UNOPENED!

You posted on the Mentor Board yesterday. It doesn't see as much action.

Effectively, the buyer voided the MBG protection when they 'RTS'd' the package. In that instance, you may be able to deduct the amount of shipping from the (impending) 'full refund'. I'm hoping you haven't issued it yet...

I have never experienced this situation, so wait for other posters or research it, if there's still time. Good luck.

Re: UNOPENED!

to be honest, I read in the ebay rules that if they decided in the buyers favor, they would not credit the seller fees. After all I've heard about ebay screwing sellers, I thought it a good idea to go ahead and refund the buyer on Thursday. I had already contacted ebay and got back a msg of 'please issue a refund" so I figured it it in my best interest to do so. Ebay wouldn't let me deduct nothing! I even got stuck with return shipping ....

@kemayli_0

I'd be trying to appeal. Good luck to you, whatever you choose to do.

Re: UNOPENED!

Do you know where your blocked bidder list is?  You need to add that person's name.

Find it  under Site Map.  Scroll down the middle column until you see the faint grey line.  Blocked Bidder list is the first thing on the list.  Copy their name, go there, paste it and save.

Site Map is harder to find than normal, but if you click on Seller Center at the bottom right of this page, it will be near the bottom right of that page.

Re: UNOPENED!

Good advice.

@kemayli_0... You can also find the Block Bidder List under your Seller Hub in the Shortcuts box.

You have answers on your other topic as well, just in case you can't find it, these boards are tricky when you first get to them

Re: UNOPENED!

File an appeal against this, the buyer made a false claim in order to return the item.  False damage claim.  Ebay will open an investigation and ask you for a statement and probably pictures of the item returned.  You can send photos of it working.
