I bought a football for my nephew. It was $30 for a new leather ball. What I received wasn’t new, or leather, and had a $10 price tag on the box. It also won’t hold air. I can’t even get a refund now. The guy refuses until I ship this deflated ball back to him. As I I trust him or have the money left to take the chance. Ebay was totally unhelpful and said to settle it amongst ourselves and closed my case.

EBay has a 30-day money back guarantee from the delivery date. If your are within 30 days, go to your purchase history and find the item and open a return case as Item Is Not As Described. And follow the bouncing ball from there.
Come back here with questions.

Anytime you open a case as a 'not as described', they will officially be your go between. I always go this way because anyone can tell you something but if you follow the guidelines, you are protected and you don't have to deal with that person directly.
PS I buy things on clearance because that's how I make money.. it's not about how much the seller paid for it, the tag could be really old and outdated perhaps.

It is near impossible for a buyer on ebay to not get a full refund from the MBG. Even when they do not deserve a refund.
Explain EXACTLY what happened and what messages you received from ebay.
