Hello sellers, I need some help!
I just received and item and its not as described. The ad description says buyer pays return shipping, but if the item isn't what they say it is, am I still on the hook for shipping costs back?
I haven't started any dispute process and I am in contact with the seller now, but I wanted some feedback on my options from more experienced ebayers. Thanks.

If the item is Not As Described, choose that reason for your Return request. With a NAD, the seller pays return shipping.

Where is the seller located?
International sellers are unable to provide a return label. Get the return shipping costs from them up front. If they don't provide it ask eBay for help. Let them know the seller is responsible for return shipping costs they have provided.

That's the thing. The seller's ad says the item is in the US, HOWEVER:
1) The item didn't ship from the claimed location (claimed location NJ, actual ship from CA), and
2) The seller's account is in China.
You make a good point. I will make sure I get shipping costs up front regardless.
