I have been a member of ebay since 1999 and had to request my first refund. I got a message something about the seller approving the refund so I sent the item back to them via USPS, first class with tracking. When I went back into ebay after shipping the item back to the seller, the return has a shipping label and QR code for me to use. How do I decline that label and just post a picture of my receipt and/or manually add the tracking?

How do I ... manually add the tracking?
eBay removed the option for buyers to add their own return tracking number, 2 years ago this month. However @adam*99 your seller should voluntarily refund within 2 business days after your return is back.
But if you see from your return tracking that it was delivered, and after 2 business days you don't have a refund, leave a private message here for eBay on Facebook, or open a Facebook account just to reach eBay, and give eBay your return tracking number. You don't need to call or chat with anyone.
Finally, if the seller doesn't refund, ask eBay to step in, to get your refund.

If you pull up the case there is a place to enter the tracking number. If the label is not used, the seller is never charged for it.

Thank you for the reply. I do not see the place to enter a tracking number. When I pull up the item it just says "Awaiting Shipment" from me and then a button to "Print Label" or "View return QR code". The previous page only says "See return details".

They have made changes.
See if this works
1. Go to the return request in Purchase History.
2. Select the shipping carrier from the dropdown list. If you select Other, enter the carrier name.
3. Enter the tracking number.
4. Select Mark as sent.

I truly appreciate your efforts.
When I go to Purchase History -> Returns and canceled orders... I can see the item I purchased and am trying to return. There is no dropdown list... only a place to the right with four options. "see return details" is the most relevant but only offers the label from the seller as previously described. The "More actions" options offers nothing relating to the return.
I can't find an ebay phone number for support and even the chat bubble is just a bot that uses keywords to direct me back to the same place.

Another user will have to come along to solve this. I have been lucky and only had to send back one item in the last 10 years.

You can find the label here. Normally this section is for sellers, but return labels also show here.
In the "action" dropdown there should be an option to add a tracking number

Thank you very much for this information!

You may have pooched yourself.
Now you have no proof you sent anything back and the seller will (eventually) get a refund on the shipping label.
Ebay ended the ability for buyers to add shipping conformation a couple years ago.
Better hope you have an honest seller!
