I had a buyer request a refund. Stated that the item was not as described and that I was a scammer.  The item was sent to him brand new. Just today eBay issued him a refund   I have not received the item returned to me.   Why did eBay issue  the refund before I received the item back from the buyer??? Now he has his money and the item.  This isn’t right. Anyone can receive an item , complain and get the refund AND have the purchase. Insane

Sounds like you didnt respond to the case? If you had, and furnished a return label, then refund after return, you would have gotten your item back. Ebay sees you as an unresponsive seller, and you received a major defect for ignoring the case.They refunded the buyer, he was not required to return the item, and closed the case.

I think you didn't respond to that case. If he/she request for a return you have to provide him/her a return shipping label. If you didn't respond to the case in time, eBay will issue refund to the buyer.

All new sellers need to research everything they can about ALL area’s of eBay not just Selling and Listing.

It is not just a matter of list, sell, send - you need to learn what to do when a customer wants to return an item, (and if the seller is drop shipping this can be a headache) and what to do if a customer claims an item is not received - again a drop shippers nightmare. Research shipping costs for off shore buyers. Do a search of eBay and see what is selling well and make sure you can match the quality and prices.

 

I have a read a number of posts where the new seller has no idea and is getting hit with negative feedback and unresolved cases being handled by eBay (which dings a sellers account) because they do not know the processes to avoid this.

 

Read, read, and read some more is the only way new sellers will survive the first month.

if ebay catches you snoozing then your gonna lose. its that simple

 

thats why I signed on for 30 days free returns

 

contrary to popular belief  if helps reduce the stress in my life.it does not add to it

 

I also reccomend skipping tracking. looking at tracking causes me to stress out.it does not reassure me of anything but the need to stop looking at it
