I got an item but it arrived broken, the man said he will send me a new one for free but since eBay dosent detect that as a valid return reason, he needs me to cancel it and he will send me a new one, is that possible

You need to follow the instructions for the return.
Your seller is giving you bad information. There are no options for exchanging item. If you close the return you won't be able to open another.
If the seller issued you a return label use it to send back the broken item. If the seller has not issued the label or a refund you can go back into to the return request after 4 business days to ask eBay to step in for a refund.

If you cancel the claim, the case will close and you will be stuck with a broken item.
Tell the seller you want a refund and he should either send a prepaid label or issue a refund without a return.
EDIT: your post isn't clear about whether you opened a return claim for not as described. If you haven't opened a claim, do so. If you did open a claim, don't close it until you get a refund.
Again, DO NOT close the claim.

@beren-5831 glad you were smart and came here first with your questions. Come back with more inquiries if you have them.

NO do not cancel. You did file an item not as described or arrived damaged case? That would be the correct choices. Once canceled, you can never reopen it. The seller needs to send a full refund. If they want the broken item back, they also have to send a pre paid return label.

No, don't close the case, the seller is trying to trick you into closing it, then you won't hear from the seller again.
They need to accept the return and pay return shipping or give you a full refund.
