Return abuse

Been having a lot of trouble in the clothing and shoe department with toxic buyers.I don’t provide measurements but I’ve had a lot of “item not as described” from buyers claiming my items are flawed.what’s funny is these same buyers messaged me weeks before asking for measurements because they want an exact fit.upon receiving the item and realizing it doesn’t fit they don’t want to lose out on the 7$ shipping they paid to receive the item and the other 7$ to return so what’s the solution? Place an “item not as described” and get free shipping and return shipping and pull any excuse out of your a** because eBay doesn’t even require pictures to start a INAD. The majority of my listings are “pre owned” and buyers use the “it has wear” excuse, like no sh- I always list the signs of wear and take pictures but my buyers think there shopping in the “new without tags category”. Reporting them is a joke as that doesn’t solve anything, wish we could open up a case similar to how buyers can open up a case when they claim they’re item didn’t arrive despite tracking saying otherwise.and I don’t care about shipping cost business is business and it’s the price we have to pay for selling  this applies everywhere but then eBay instead of backing they’re sellers stamps a 5% higher final value fee geee thanks eBay for being so supportive

Re: Return abuse

5 months later and I've fixed my service metrics to a 0.5 otherwise known as "low" despite me having an increase in transactions. i took everyone's advice and added measurement to my entire store and that did the trick.this confirmed my theory that buyers abuse the "item not as described" to get free return shipping.i even had a buyer straight up confess this when i told her this would hurt my store and give me a defect, she had to call ebay to retract her  case and ebay still manage to mess up and give me a defect,i didnt care as i was already in the low.

Re: Return abuse

Clothing, shoes, etc. have a high rate of return and I'm afraid that there is nothing you can do to stop it. We have all purchased something in a retail store and ended up returning it, even though we tried it on, because it just didn't look or feel right. Best you can do it to accept returns and hope the honest buyers choose the correct reason for returning the item.

Re: Return abuse

I am working on providing measurements but the focus isn’t on this rather how buyers are abusing INAD. I have cases where I provide measurements and the buyer simply didn’t like how it looked in real life complaining on how the color is slightly different or the fit looks different when worn and then place an INAD.

Re: Return abuse

Why on earth would you make it a practice to not provide measurements? The minute I see a clothing listing without exact measurements I hit the back button. Surely you realize that, sadly, in the U. S. There are no standards measurements, even within the same brand. This is the bane of online clothing buyers everywhere. It’s even more critical in used clothing as there is shrinkage involved.
