Return Conflicts

Hello, I need someone to clear up my confusion on a returns that I'm trying to make. Recently ordered a CD that was listed as being in Mint condition, and the photos showed it being in great condition and complete. Upon arrival it turned out that the bottom hinge broke off completely and the case was broken in two. Taking it with the seller he confirmed it was not like that before Shipping. We agreed that I could send it back for a refund. I opened the request, clicked on "Arrived Damaged" and included the pictures of the case being busted. I later messaged them asking for a return shipping label to be provided, but now their telling me that since they have returns open but buyer has to pay returning shipping policy, i have to pay my own shipping. From previous experiences with returns, shouldn't this count as an INAD return since proper shipping is the sellers responsibility? Who should have to pay the return shipping?

Re: Return Conflicts

Return shipping is the sellers responsibility when not as described, defective, arrived damaged, missing parts or pieces and received wrong item.

Buyers pay on returns for ordered by mistake, don't like it, changed my mind, found better price and doesn't fit.

If by the 3rd day your seller hasn't sent you a return label you can go back to the case to ask eBay to step in for your refund.

Re: Return Conflicts

Seller should have to pay return shipping. This is how it is supposed to go down:

Go to your eBay Purchase History and open a return case.
Find the item in your Purchase History and press the big, blue 'Return this item' button. Select "arrived damaged" as the reason for the return.

If it requires you to upload a photo to the return case you will need to do that.

Seller will be required to provide a prepaid shipping label IF they want the item back before refunding. Send the item back with the prepaid return label.

When the return tracking shows delivered back to the seller, the seller will have 2 days to inspect and refund your purchase. If that does not happen, on day 3 there will be an "Ask eBay to Step In", option for you to click on. EBay will refund your money.

If seller does not send a return label within 3 days and the "Ask eBay To Step In" option is not available, you will have to contact eBay. Contact eBay thru Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness/
Using the instant messaging and explain that the seller has not provided a return label.

Under NO circumstances do you close the return before getting your refund, REGARDLESS of what the seller might tell you.

Come back here with any or all questions you might have throughout this process.
